لَا رَيۡبَۛ فِيهِۛ-

There is no doubt in it.

وَإِنَّ مِنۡهَا لَمَا يَهۡبِطُ مِنۡ خَشۡيَةِ ٱللَّهِ-

And indeed, of them there are some that humble themselves for fear of Allah.

قُلۡ لَّاۤ اَمۡلِکُ لِنَفۡسِیۡ نَفۡعًا وَّلَا ضَرًّا اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ

Say, ‘I have no power to do good or harm

مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ ۖ

on any other that can neither profit thee nor harm thee.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي رَفَعَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ بِغَيۡرِ عَمَدٖ تَرَوۡنَهَا

Allah is He Who raised up the heavens without any pillars that you can see.

الٓر ۚ كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَيۡكَ لِتُخۡرِجَ ٱلنَّاسَ مِنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِمۡ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ-

Alif Lam Ra. This is a Book which We have revealed to thee that thou mayest bring mankind out of every kind of darkness into light, by the command of their Lord, to the path of the Mighty, the Praiseworthy —

بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِمۡ-

By the command of their Lord.

ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ۗ وَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَ مِنۡ عَذَابٖ شَدِيدٍ-

Allah, to Whom belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. And woe to the disbelievers for a terrible punishment:

وَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡكَٰفِرِينَ مِنۡ عَذَابٖ شَدِيدٍ-

And woe to the disbelievers for a terrible punishment:

ٱلَّذِينَ يَسۡتَحِبُّونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا عَلَى ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبۡغُونَهَا عِوَجًا ۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ فِي ضَلَٰلِۭ بَعِيدٖ

Those who prefer the present life to the Hereafter, and hinder men from the way of Allah and seek to make it crooked. It is these who have gone far off in error.

ٱلَّذِينَ يَسۡتَحِبُّونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا عَلَى ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ-

Those who prefer the present life to the Hereafter.

أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ فِي ضَلَٰلِۭ بَعِيدٖ-

It is these who have gone far off in error.

وَرَفَعۡنَٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا-

And We exalted him to a lofty station.

وَرَفَعۡنَٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا-

And We exalted him to a lofty station.

وَجَعَلۡنَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَوَٰسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمۡ-

And We have made in the earth firm mountains lest it should quake with them.

وَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِکَ مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ وَّلَا نَبِیٍّ اِلَّاۤ اِذَا

Never sent We a Messenger or a Prophet before thee,

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٖ وَلَا نَبِيٍّ إِلَّآ إِذَا تَمَنَّىٰٓ أَلۡقَى ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ فِيٓ أُمۡنِيَّتِهِۦ

Never sent We a Messenger or a Prophet before thee, but when he sought to attain what he aimed at, Satan put obstacles in the way of what he sought after.

كَشَفَتۡ عَن سَاقَيۡهَا-

She uncovered her shanks.

قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ صَرۡحٞ مُّمَرَّدٞ مِّن قَوَارِيرَ-

Solomon said, ‘It is a palace paved smooth with slabs of glass.

وَٱلۡبَحۡرُ يَمُدُّهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ سَبۡعَةُ أَبۡحُرٖ -

And the ocean were ink, with seven oceans.

وَمَا کَانَ لِمُؤۡمِنٍ وَّلَا مُؤۡمِنَۃٍ اِذَا قَضَی اللّٰہُ وَرَسُوۡلُہٗۤ اَمۡرًا

And it behoves not a believing man or a believing

وَمَا کَانَ لِمُؤۡمِنٍ وَّلَا مُؤۡمِنَۃٍ اِذَا قَضَی اللّٰہُ وَرَسُوۡلُہٗۤ اَمۡرًا

And it behoves not a believing man or a believing

وَمَا کَانَ لِمُؤۡمِنٍ وَّلَا مُؤۡمِنَۃٍ اِذَا قَضَی اللّٰہُ وَرَسُوۡلُہٗۤ اَمۡرًا

And it behoves not a believing man or a believing

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُمۡسِكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَن تَزُولَا ۚ

Surely, Allah holds the heavens and the earth lest they deviate from their places

وَكُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ-

All of them float in an orbit.

وَهَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ نَبَؤُاْ ٱلۡخَصۡمِ إِذۡ تَسَوَّرُواْ ٱلۡمِحۡرَابَ-

And has the story of the disputants reached thee when they climbed over the wall of his chamber?

وَہَلۡ اَتٰٮکَ نَبَؤُا الۡخَصۡمِ ۘ اِذۡ تَسَوَّرُوا الۡمِحۡرَابَ ﴿ۙ۲۲﴾

And has the story of the disputants reached thee when

وَهَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ نَبَؤُاْ ٱلۡخَصۡمِ إِذۡ تَسَوَّرُواْ ٱلۡمِحۡرَابَ-

And has the story of the disputants reached thee when they climbed over the wall of his chamber?

اِذۡ دَخَلُوۡا عَلٰی دَاوٗدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنۡہُمۡ قَالُوۡا لَا تَخَفۡ ۚ

When they entered in upon David, and he was afraid

اِذۡ دَخَلُوۡا عَلٰی دَاوٗدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنۡہُمۡ قَالُوۡا لَا تَخَفۡ ۚ

اِذۡ دَخَلُوۡا عَلٰی دَاوٗدَ فَفَزِعَ مِنۡہُمۡ قَالُوۡا لَا تَخَفۡ ۚ

When they entered in upon David, and he was afraid

اِنَّ ہٰذَاۤ اَخِیۡ ۟ لَہٗ تِسۡعٌ وَّتِسۡعُوۡنَ نَعۡجَۃً وَّلِیَ نَعۡجَۃٌ

“This is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes, and I

اِنَّ ہٰذَاۤ اَخِیۡ ۟ لَہٗ تِسۡعٌ وَّتِسۡعُوۡنَ نَعۡجَۃً وَّلِیَ نَعۡجَۃٌ

“This is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes, and I

اِنَّ ہٰذَاۤ اَخِیۡ ۟ لَہٗ تِسۡعٌ وَّتِسۡعُوۡنَ نَعۡجَۃً وَّلِیَ نَعۡجَۃٌ

“This is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes, and I

قَالَ لَقَدۡ ظَلَمَکَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعۡجَتِکَ اِلٰی نِعَاجِہٖ ؕ وَاِنَّ کَثِیۡرًا

David said, ‘Surely, he has wronged thee in demanding thy

قَالَ لَقَدۡ ظَلَمَکَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعۡجَتِکَ اِلٰی نِعَاجِہٖ ؕ وَاِنَّ کَثِیۡرًا

David said, ‘Surely, he has wronged thee in demanding thy

قَالَ لَقَدۡ ظَلَمَکَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعۡجَتِکَ اِلٰی نِعَاجِہٖ ؕ وَاِنَّ کَثِیۡرًا

David said, ‘Surely, he has wronged thee in demanding thy

فَغَفَرۡنَا لَہٗ ذٰلِکَ ؕ وَاِنَّ لَہٗ عِنۡدَنَا لَزُلۡفٰی وَحُسۡنَ مَاٰبٍ

So We forgave him that; and indeed, he had a

فَغَفَرۡنَا لَہٗ ذٰلِکَ ؕ وَاِنَّ لَہٗ عِنۡدَنَا لَزُلۡفٰی وَحُسۡنَ مَاٰبٍ

So We forgave him that; and indeed, he had a

فَغَفَرۡنَا لَہٗ ذٰلِکَ ؕ وَاِنَّ لَہٗ عِنۡدَنَا لَزُلۡفٰی وَحُسۡنَ مَاٰبٍ

So We forgave him that; and indeed, he had a

وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا سُلَيۡمَٰنَ-

And We did try Solomon.

وَلَقَدۡ فَتَنَّا سُلَيۡمَٰنَ-

And We did try Solomon.

أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰ-

Now tell me about Lat and ‘Uzza,

وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰٓ

And Manat, the third one, another goddess!
