  • 8

    وَمِنَ ٱلۡأَعۡرَابِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنفِقُ مَغۡرَمٗا وَيَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمُ ٱلدَّوَآئِرَ ۚ عَلَيۡهِمۡ دَآئِرَةُ ٱلسَّوۡءِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ ٩٨

    And among the Arabs of the desert are those who regard that which they spend for God as a fine and they wait for calamities to befall you. On themselves shall fall an evil calamity. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

  • 23

    وَأَقۡسَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ لَئِن جَآءَتۡهُمۡ ءَايَةٞ لَّيُؤۡمِنُنَّ بِهَا ۚ قُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡأٓيَٰتُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَمَا يُشۡعِرُكُمۡ أَنَّهَآ إِذَا جَآءَتۡ لَايُؤۡمِنُونَ ١١٠

    And they swear their strongest oaths by Allah that if there came to them a Sign, they would surely believe therein. Say, ‘Surely, Signs are with Allah. But what should make you understand that when the Signs come, they will not believe?’

  • 25

    أَوۡ يَكُونَ لَكَ بَيۡتٞ مِّن زُخۡرُفٍ أَوۡ تَرۡقَىٰ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَلَن نُّؤۡمِنَ لِرُقِيِّكَ حَتَّىٰ تُنَزِّلَ عَلَيۡنَا كِتَٰبٗا نَّقۡرَؤُهُۥ ۗ قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّيهَلۡ كُنتُ إِلَّا بَشَرٗا رَّسُولٗا ٩٤

    ‘Or thou have a house of gold or thou ascend up into heaven; and we will not believe in thy ascension until thou send down to us a book that we can read.’ Say, ‘Holy is my Lord! I am not but a man sent as a Messenger.’

  • 28

    قُلۡنَا يَٰنَارُ كُونِي بَرۡدٗا وَسَلَٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ ٧٠

    We said, ‘O fire, be thou cold and a means of safety for Abraham!’

  • 30

    وَمَا قَدَرُواْ ٱلله حَقَّ قَدۡرِهِۦٓ إِذۡ قَالُواْ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ بَشَرٖ مِّن شَيۡءٖ ۗ قُلۡ مَنۡ أَنزَلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ ٱلَّذِي جَآءَ بِهِۦ مُوسَىٰ نُورٗاوَهُدٗى لِّلنَّاسِ ۖ تَجۡعَلُونَهُۥ قَرَاطِيسَ تُبۡدُونَهَا وَتُخۡفُونَ كَثِيرٗا ۖ وَعُلِّمۡتُم مَّا لَمۡ تَعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنتُمۡ وَلَآ ءَابَآؤُكُمۡ ۖ قُلِ ٱللَّهُ ۖ ثُمَّ ذَرۡهُمۡفِي خَوۡضِهِمۡ يَلۡعَبُونَ ٩٢

    And they do not make a just estimate of Allah, when they say: ‘Allah has not revealed anything to any man.’ Say: ‘Who revealed the Book which Moses brought, a light and guidance for the people — though you treat it as scraps of paper which you show while you conceal much; and you have been taught that which neither you nor your fathers knew?’ — Say: ‘Allah’. Then leave them to amuse themselves with their vaindiscourse.

  • 32

    قِيلَ لَهَا ٱدۡخُلِي ٱلصَّرۡحَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَأَتۡهُ حَسِبَتۡهُ لُجَّةٗ وَكَشَفَتۡ عَن سَاقَيۡهَا ۚ قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ صَرۡحٞ مُّمَرَّدٞ مِّن قَوَارِيرَ ۗ قَالَتۡ رَبِّ إِنِّيظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِي وَأَسۡلَمۡتُ مَعَ سُلَيۡمَٰنَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٤٥

    It was said to her, ‘Enter the palace.’ And when she saw it, she thought it to be a great expanse of water, and she uncovered her shanks. Solomon said, ‘It is a palace paved smooth with slabs of glass.’ She said, ‘My Lord, I indeed wronged my soul; and I submit myself with Solomon to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.’

  • 39

    لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ ٨٠

    Which none shall touch except those who are purified.

  • The Plague

  • 88

    مَّا يَفۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ بِعَذَابِكُمۡ إِن شَكَرۡتُمۡ وَءَامَنتُمۡ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ شَاكِرًا عَلِيمٗا

    Why should Allah punish you, if you are thankful and if you believe? And Allah is Appreciating, All-Knowing.

  • 99

    أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلۡمُضۡطَرَّ

    Or, Who answers the distressed person?

  • 99

    وَمَا دُعَـٰٓؤُاْ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٍ

    ’ But the prayer of disbelievers is of no avail.

  • 108

    تُكَلِّمُهُمۡ أَنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ كَانُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا لَا يُوقِنُونَ

    which shall wound them because people did not believe in Our Signs.

  • 108

    وَيَوۡمَ نَحۡشُرُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٖ فَوۡجٗا مِّمَّن يُكَذِّبُ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَهُمۡ يُوزَعُونَ

    And remind them of the day when We shall gather together from every people a party from among those who rejected Our Signs, and they shall be placed in separate bands.

  • 108

    حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُو قَالَ أَكَذَّبۡتُم بِـَٔايَٰتِي وَلَمۡ تُحِيطُواْ بِهَا عِلۡمًا أَمَّاذَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ

    Till, when they come, He will say, ‘Did you reject My Signs, while you did not embrace them in your knowledge? Or what was it that you were doing?’

  • 108

    وَوَقَعَ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَيۡهِم بِمَا ظَلَمُواْ فَهُمۡ لَا يَنطِقُونَ

    And the sentence shall fall upon them because they did wrong, and they will be speechless.

  • Extraordinary Renown and Divine Succour

  • 122

    صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ

    The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings.

  • 125

    وَسَيَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٖ يَنقَلِبُونَ

    And the wrongdoers will soon know to what place of return they shall return.

  • 126

    كَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَغۡلِبَنَّ أَنَا۠ وَرُسُلِ

    Allah has decreed: ‘Most surely I will prevail, I and My Messengers.

  • 133

    فَإِن لَّمۡ تَفۡعَلُواْ وَلَن تَفۡعَلُواْ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلۡحِجَارَةُ ۖ أُعِدَّتۡ لِلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

    But if you do it not — and never shall you do it — then guard against the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, which is prepared for the disbelievers.

  • Earthquakes and Wars

  • 143

    لَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا

    He reveals not His secrets to any one,

  • 143

    إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٖ

    Except to him whom He chooses, namely a Messenger of His.

  • 145

    وَمَا كُنَّا مُعَذِّبِينَ حَتَّىٰ نَبۡعَثَ رَسُولٗ

    We never punish until We have sent a Messenger.

  • 148

    وَلَا تَاْيۡـَٔسُواْ مِن رَّوۡحِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يَاْيۡـَٔسُ مِن رَّوۡحِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

    and despair not of the mercy of Allah; for none despairs of Allah’s mercy save the unbelieving people.’

  • 149

    وَمَا كُنَّا مُعَذِّبِينَ حَتَّىٰ نَبۡعَثَ رَسُولٗا

    We never punish until We have sent a Messenger.

  • 152

    إِذَا زُلۡزِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ زِلۡزَالَهَا

    When the earth is shaken with her violent shaking.

  • Miscellaneous Signs

  • 161

    وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

    By the heaven and the Morning Star —

  • 185

    قُلۡ مَا يَعۡبَؤُاْ بِكُمۡ رَبِّي لَوۡلَا دُعَآؤُكُمۡ

    Say to the disbelievers: ‘But for your prayer to Him my Lord would not care for you.

  • 191

    فَيُمۡسِكُ ٱلَّتِي قَضَىٰ عَلَيۡهَا ٱلۡمَوۡتَ

    And then He retains those against which He has decreed death

  • 203

    ضَاقَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتۡ

    Until the earth became too strait for them with all its vastness
