PRAYERS 55 forgive all my past and future sins, the secret and the obvious ones. You cause people to advance and also restrain them. There is none worthy of worship except You. Hadrat ‘ A ’ishah ra , while mentioning the prayers which the Holy Prophet sa used to say in the beginning of Tahajjud prayer, said: that he repeated ﺍ ﷲ " ْ ﻛ $ ْ % 'All a hu Akbar' , ْ ﺍ ﻟ ْ ﺤ ﻤ ﺪ ﷲ 'Al h amdulill a h' , ْ ﺳ ﺒ ﺤ ﺎن ﺍﷲ 'Sub ha nall a h' and ﻻ ﺍ ﻟٰ+ ﺍ ﻻ ﺍﷲ 'L a il a ha illall a h' ten times and used to seek forgiveness from All a h ten times and used to say some other prayers as well. 82 ‘Abdull a h bin ‘Umar ra relates once we were offering our s al a t with the Holy Prophet sa when another person arrived. Before starting his s al a t he said these words ِ اَﷲ ُ اَکْ رب َُ کَﺒِريًْ ا وَاحلَْ ﻤْ ﺪ ُ ﻟِ ﻠªّٰ ِ کَﺜِريًْ ا و َ ﺳُﺒْ ﺤَﺎن َ اﷲ ً ﺑُکْ ﺮَةًوَّاَ ﺻِﻴﻼ ( All a h is the Greatest, abundant praise belong to Him and Holy is He at dawn and dusk). After the prayer the Holy Prophet sa said, "These citations were so much loved by God, that the doors of the Heaven were opened for them. " Ibne ‘Umar ra says "After that I always recite these words during s al a t. ” 83 Hadrat ‘ A ’ishah ra relates that generally the Holy Prophet sa started his Tahajjud prayer with the following words: ِْ ْ اَﻟﻠّٰﻬُﻢَّ رَبَّ ﺟِرب ْ ﻳ ْ ﻞَ وَﻣِﻴ ْ ¤َﺎل َ وَاِﺳ َۡ ﺮَاﻓِﻴ ْ ﻞَ ﻓَﺎﻃِﺮَ اﻟﺴَّﻤٰﻮَاتِ وَاﻻ ر َضِ، ْ 2َﺎﻟِﻢ ْ اﻟ ْ ﻐَﻴ َْ ﺐ ِ وَاﻟﺸَّﻬَﺎدَة ِ ،اَﻧ َْ ﺖ َ حت ْ کُﻢ ُ ﺑَني ْﻋِﺒَﺎدِک َ ﻓِﻴ ْ ﻤَﺎ Lَﺎﻧُﻮ َْ ا ﻓِﻴ ِ خيª ْ ﺘَﻠِﻔُﻮ ْنَ، ِْ اِﻫ ۡﺪِىن ْ ملَِﺎ اﺧ ْ ﺘُﻠِﻒَ ﻓِﻴ ْ ªِ ﻣِﻦَ احلَﻖِّ ﺑِﺎِذ ْﻧِکَ ،اِﻧَّکَ َﺪِی ٍﻣَﻦ ٍ ﺗَﺸَﺂءُ اِىلٰ ﺻِﺮَاط ﻣُّﺴﺘَﻘِﻴﻢ. 84 O All a h , Lord of Jibr a’ i l (Gabriel), Mik a’ i l (Michael), Isr a f i l (Israfel) and Creator of the Heavens and the Earth.
