Þö ç »  º ) ; bright or brilliant light. According to some, it has a more intensive signification than Þö ç »  º. Some lexicologists consider  ø ç » ð º or  ô nø ^ ð º as signifying the rays that are differed by what is termed Þö ç »  º. According to others, these two words are synonymous in their original signification, but  ô nø ^ ð º is more forcible according to usage. According to some others,  ô nø ^ ð º signifies that light which subsists by itself, as that of the sun or fire, and Þö ç »  º that which subsists by some other thing as does the light of the moon i. e. reflected light. â ö ç ø ] Ö $  ô p » q ø Ã ø Ø ø ] Ö  $ Û »  ø  ô nø ^ ð ÷ æ $ ] Ö» Ï ø Û ø  ø Þö ç »  ÷ ] : He it is Who made the sun a splendour and the moon a light (10:6). From the Holy Qur'an it appears that whereas  ô nø ^ ð º or  ø ç » ð º signifies strong light, Þö ç »  º is more general term denoting light as opposed to darkness. q ø Ã ø Ø ø ] Ö ¿ % × ö Û ø ^ l ô æ ø ] Ö ß % ç »  ø : He (God) has made darkness and light (6:2).
