نخل نحر out; he hewed out; he formed or fashioned by cutting. نَحَتَ بَيْتًا فِى الْجَبَلِ : He hewed out a house in the mountain يَنْحِتُوْنَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا : They hewed out houses in the mountains (15:83). نَحْرَ ]aor. يَنْحَرُ inf. noun نَحْرُرٌ [ : He slew he stabbed a camel or beast in his نَحْرٌ which means the uppermost part of the breast or chest or the place of the collar or necklace or that part of the breast or chest which is the place of the collar or necklace; the part where the windpipe commences in the uppermost part of the breast. نَحَرْتُ الشَّيْءَ عِلْمًا : I knew the thing thoroughly. نَحَرَ الصلوة : He performed the Prayer in the first part of its time. نَحْرٌ also signifies the first part or commencement of the day and of the month. قَعَدَ فُلانٌ فِي نَحْرِ فُلانٍ : Such a one sat opposite to him. فَصَّلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ : So pray to thy Lord and offer sacrifice )108:3( يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ : The day of sacrifice. : [نُحُوْسَةً inf. noun يَنْحُسُ aor نَحْسَ and نَحْسًا inf. noun يَنْحَسُ . aor] نَحِسَ He or it was or became unprosperous, unfortunate, inauspicious or unlucky. نَحْسٌ : Unprosperous; unfortunate; unlucky inauspicious. فِي يَوْمٍ نَحْسٍ : In an inauspicious day )54:20( نَحِسَاتُ )plural(. فِي أَيَّامٍ نُحِسَاتٍ : In ominous days )41:17( رَجُلٌ نَحْسٌ أَوْ مَنْحُوْسٌ : An unfortunate man أَيَّامٌ نَحْسٌ or أَيَّامٌ نَّحِسَاتٌ : Ominous days. نُحَاسٌ : Copper; brass.
