قل قلد قَلَدَ قُلُوبٌ plural )7:18(. ]aor. يَقْلِدُ inf. noun قَلَدَ الْحَبْلَ قَلْدٌ : He twisted the rope. قُلِدَ حَبْلُه : His rope was twisted; he became weak in judgement by reason of old age. قَلَدَهُ الْحُمَّى : The fever seized him every day. قَلَّدَهَا الْقِلادَةَ : He put a necklace or a collar upon her neck. قَلَّدَهُ الْاَمْرَ : He obliged him to do the thing or imposed him the thing. قَلائِدُ قِلَادَةٌ plural): Necklace; collar, that which is put upon the neck of a human being or a horse or a dog a camel or cow or bull that is brought as an offering to Mecca for sacrifice )5:3( مَقَالِيْدُ )singular مقلاة meaning a repository, magazine or treasury and مِقْلَدٌ meaning a key. لَهُ مَقَالِيْدُ السَّمَواتِ : To Him belong the treasures or keys of the heavens )39:64( الْقَيْتُ إِلَيْهِ مَقَالِيْدَ الْأَمُورِ : I committed to him the disposal or management of the affair. ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَقَالِيْدُ : His affairs or means became straitened or difficult. قَلَعَ ]aor. يَقْلَعُ inf. noun قَلَعَ قَلْعٌ and فَلَعَ الشَّيْءَ : إِقْتَلَعَ : He pulled plucked or rooted out the thing or eradicated or uprooted it. قع الْوَالِي فُلانًا : The governor dismissed such a one. أَقْلَعَ عَنْ كَذَا : He left him or he abstained from it. أَقْلَعَتِ الْحُمَّى عَنْ فُلان : The fever left such a one. اَقْلع also means it cleared away; it departed. أَقْلَعَتِ الْحُمَّى : The fever passed away. يَا سَمَاءُ اَقْلِعِي : sky, cease raining (11:45). قَلَّ ک 2 aor. يقلّ inf. noun قلة. It was or became few, small or little in number, quantity or amount; it became scanty or deficient or wanting in goodness; he had few aiders. مِمَّا قَلَّ مِنْهُ أَوْ كَثُرَ : Whether it be little or much )4:8( قَلَهُ : He made it or held it to be little; he showed it or made it little. يُقَلِلْكُمْ فِي أَعْيُنِهِمْ : He (God( made you appear as few in their eyes )8:45(اله : He lifted it or raised it from the ground and carried it. أَقَلَّهُ الْغَضَبُ : Anger disquieted or flurried him. حَتَّى إِذَا أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا : Till when they bear a heavy cloud )7:58( آقل : He became poor or he had little property. قليل : Few small or little in number, quantity or amount; scanty; a small quantity or quantum or number; possessing little of anything. مَتَاعٌ قَلِيْلٌ : Small or little benefit 703
