غنم غمر غَمَرَ ]aor يَغْمُرُ inf. noun غَمْرٌ[ : It overflowed. غَمَرَهُ الْمَاءُ : The water rose above him and submerged him. غَمِرَ صَدْرُهُ عَلَيَّ aor. يَعْمَرُ inf noun غَمْرٌ and غِمْرٌ( : His breast became filled with hatred and enmity against me غَمُرَ الْمَاءُ : The water was or became abundant (inf. noun غَمَارَةٌ and غَمُرَ الرَّجُلُ غُمُوْرَةٌ : The man was ignorant or inexperienced in affair غُمِرَ عَلَيْهِ : He fainted or swooned. غَمْرَةٌ : Water that rises above the stature of a man: في غَمْرَةٍ : Submerging flood of ignorance; in error, obstinacy and perplexity; in overwhelming heedlessness or in ignorance: غَمْرَةٌ also signifies difficulty, trouble, distress or rigour and pressure of a thing; a state of perseverance in vain and false affairs )23:51:12( غَمَرَ )plural(. غَمَرَاتُ جَهَنَّمَ : The fiery depths of Hell. غَمَرَاتُ الْحَرْبِ : The rigours of war. غَمَرَاتُ الْمَوْتِ : The rigours, agonies of death (7:94). غَمَزَ ]aor. يَغْمِرُ inf. noun غَمَزَهُ غَمْرٌ : He felt him (namely a ram) to know how fat he was. غَمَزَهُ بِيَدِهِ : He pressed or squeezed with his hand. غَمَزَهُ بِالْعَيْنِ : He made a sign to him with the eye. غَمَزَ بِالرَّجُلِ وَ عَلَيْهِ : He slandered the man. غَمَزَتِ الدَّابَّةُ فِي مَشْيِهَا : The beast limped. تَغَامَزُوا : They made signs to one another with their eyes, eye-brows, hands, indicating something blamable or faulty. يَتَغَامَزُوْنَ : They winked to one another )83:31(. غَمَضَ الْكَلامُ غُمُوْضٌ inf. noun يَعْمُضُ aor غَمُضَ and يَعْمُضُ aor] غَمَضَ وَغَمُضَ : The speech was not plain or perspicuous, was obscure or abstruse. غَمَضَ فِي الْأَرْضِ : He went away into the land and disappeared. أَغْمَضَ عَيْنَيْهِ : He closed his eyes. أَغْمَضَ عَنْهُ وَعَلَيْهِ : He connived at it. أَغْمَضَ فِي السِّلْعَةِ : He demanded a lowering of the price of the commodity on account of its badness. إِلَّا أَنْ تُعْمِضُوْا فِيْهِ : Except that you connive at it (unless you have the price lowered) (2:268). غَنِمَ ]aor. يَغْنَمُ inf. noun غُنْمٌ and غَنْمٌ and غَسَمٌ and غَنِيْمَةٌ and غَنِمَ غَنْمَانٌ )inf. noun غُنْم( : He obtained, got, acquired a thing without difficulty, trouble or inconvenience غيم )inf. noun all the above mentioned): He or they got or took spoil or a thing as spoil. وَاعْلَمُوْا أَنَّمَا غَنِمْتُمْ : And know that whatever you take as spoils 624
