It was or became apparent, thus this verb has two contrary significations.  ø Ë ø ^ ]ø $»  ö å ü : He died or perished.  ø Ë » ç º also signifies the act of effacing or obliterating.  ø Ë ø k ô ] Ö  ôù m» x ö ]ø $ø  ø ] Ö» Û ø ß»  ô Ù ô : The wind obliterated the trace or vestige of the house.  ø × ö ç ] ] Ö × # ä ø ] Ö» à ø Ë » ç ø : Ask ye of Allah the effacement or the forgiveness of sins. ì ö  ô ] Ö» à ø Ë » ç ø : Take to forgiveness (7:200). æ ø ]  » Ì ö  ø ß $ ^ : And Thou efface our sins or pardon us (2:287). ]ø Ö» à ø Ë » ç ö signifies the turning away ( ]ø Ö  $ Ë » x ö ) from the committer of a crime and relinquishing the punishment thereof. And ]ø Ö  $ Ë » x ö rather implies the relinquishing of the blame or reproof, and this is more than ]ø Ö» à ø Ë » ç ö for the latter is sometimes without the former. Ê ø ^  » Ì ö  ø ß» ã ö Ü » æ ø ]  » Ë ø x » : So pardon them and turn away from them (5:14). The primary signification of ]ø Ö» à ø Ë » ç ö (when transitive) is said to be "the purposing to take" a thing. Imam Raghib says that it is as though it meant I have purposed to remove or to take away thy crime or the like.  ø Ë ø ^ ] Ö × # ä ö  ø ß» Ô ø : Allah remove thy cores (9:43), or as is given above, Allah remove or completely obliterate the bad effects of your slip or error.  ø  $ Õ ø æ ø ]ø  » × ø v ø Ô ø : May God set right thy affairs and honour thee.  ø Ë ø ^ also means, 581 Â Ë  Â Ë ^
