صدع صدف which thou art charged )15:95( صَدْعٌ as also تَصْدِيْعُ signifies the act of separating or dispensing or scattering. صَدَعَ فُلانًا : He directed his course to such a one because of his generosity. صَدَعْتُ إِلَى الشَّيْءِ : I inclined towards the thing. صَدَعَهُ عَنْهُ : He turned him away from him or it. تَصَدَّعَ of which اِنْصَدَعَ is a variant: It became separated or dispersed or scattered. تَصَدَّعَ الْقَوْمُ : The people became separated يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصَّدَّعُوْنَ : On that day they shall become separated into parties )30:44( صَدَّعَهُ : It affected him with headache as though it made his head to split. صَدَّعَنِي أَزِيْزُ الرِّحْى : The sounding of the mill-stone affected me with headache. صُدِعَ أَوْ صُدِّعَ : He was or became affected with صُدَاعٌ )headache( . لَا يُصَدَّعُوْنَ عَنْهَا : No headache will they get there Humbled and rent asunder for : خَاشِعًا مُّتَصَدِّعًا مِّنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ (56:20) fear of Allah )59:22( صَدْع : Aleft, split, slit or crack; a part or portion, separated of a thing; the plants of earth because they cleave it. وَالْاَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ : And the earth which splits (with growth of plants and trees( )86:13( صَدْعُ also means, a man light of flesh; a company of men; a woman who makes a division in the state of a people and does not repair it. صَدَعَ الشَّيْءَ صِدْعًا : He split the thing in halves. صَدَفَ ]aor. يَصْدُقُ and يَصْدِقُ inf. noun صَدْفٌ [ : He turned away or back and declined. ثُمَّ هُمْ يَصْدِفُوْنَ : Yet they turn away )6:47( صَدَفَ عَنْهُ : He turned away from, avoided, shunned or left him. وَصَدَفَ عَنْهَا : And turns away from it. الَّذِيْنَ يَصْدِفُوْنَ عَنْ آيَاتِنَا : Those who turn away from Our Signs )6:158( صَدَفَ فُلانًا : He turned away such a one (transitive( اَصْدَقُ is derived from صَدَقُ which is inf. noun from صَدِ and is applied to a horse or camel which has thighs near together and the hoofs far apart, with a twisting of the pasterns or a crookedness in the fore-legs. صَدَ : Anything high or lofty such as a wall and a mountain; the side of a mountain or the part between two mountains; any building or structure that is lofty and great; the place or ending of a mountain. اَلصَّدَفَان also means two mountains making together. سَاوَى بَيْنَ الصَّدَفَيْنِ : When he had levelled up the space between two mountains (18:97). 474
