Imam Raghib says that ô » Ñ º and Ò ø ô h º are primarily in what is said, whether relating to the past or to the future, and whether it be a promise or other than a promise; only in what is said in the way of information. ô » Ñ º he says, is by implication the agreeing of what is said with what is conceived in the mind and with the thing told of, together, otherwise it is not complete ô » Ñ º. ø ø Ñ ø Ê ô o ] Ö» v ø ô m» & ô : He told or spoke the truth. ]ö æ ÖF òô Ô ø ] Ö $ ô m» à ø ø ø Î ö ç » ] : It is these who have proved, or who are, truthful (2:178). ø ø Ñ ø Ê ô o ] Ö» Ï ô jø ^ Ù ô : He fought well; he gave a good account of himself in the fight. ø ø Î ø ä ö ] Ö ß $ ô n» v ø è ø : He gave him sincere advice or was sincere to him in giving him advice. ø ø Ñ ø ] Ö % f» x ö : The dawn shone clearly. ø ø Î ø ßô o » æ ø  » ø å ü : He fulfilled his promise to me; he was true to his promise with me. ø ø Î ö ç » ] Ú ø ^  ø ^ â ø ö æ ] Ö × # ä ø  ø × ø n» ä ô : Who have been true to their covenant with Allah (33:24).
