شهد ]aor. يَشْنَا and شَنِيءَ aor. يَشْنَاً inf. noun شَنَاءٌ and شَنَا الرَّجُلَ أَوْ شَنْأَةٌ شَيْتَهُ : He hated the man or hated him vehemently. شَنِيٌّ حَقَّهُ : He acknowledged his right or due and gave it to him. شَنَانٌ أَوْ شَنَانٌ : Enmity or hatred وَ لا يَجْرِ مَنَّكُمْ شَنَانُ قَوْمٍ : And let not the enmity of a people incite you )53( شنان also means hatred شَانِيٌّ : Hating or hater; (act. part. an enemy. إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْاَبْتَرُ : It is thy enemy who is without issue (108:4). 28 ]aor. يَشْهَبُ and شَهُبَ aor. يَشْهُبُ inf. noun شَهَبٌ [ : It was or became of colour termed شُهْبَة ie of a (gray) colour in which whiteness predominated over blackness or in which whiteness was interrupted by blackness شَهَبَهُ aor. يَشْهَبُ said of heat and of cold: It altered his colour شُهُبٌ شِهَابٌ plural) a brand or flame )شُعْلَةٌ( of fire a flame or brand of fire gleaming or radiating; a firebrand i. e. a piece of wood in which is fire gleaming or radiating; a shooting or falling star يَجِدْ لَهُ شِهَابًا رَّصَدًا : Finds a shooting star in ambush for him )72:10( فَأَتْبَعَةُ شِهَابٌ مُّبِينٌ : There pursues him a bright flame )15:19( حَرَسًا شَدِيدًا وَ شُهُبًا : Filled with strong guards and shooting stars )729( اَلشَّهُبُ signifies the shining or brightly-shining stars; or the seven stars (or planets; meaning, not the pleiades (which are called النَّجْمُ( but the Moon, Mercury, Venus, the Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. شِهَابٌ also signifies, one who is penetrating sharp, or energetic in an affair. فلانٌ شِهَابُ حَرْبٍ : Such a one is energetic and sharp in war. و لک He was present in the : شَهِدَ الْمَجْلِسَ شُهُودٌ ]aor. يَشْهَدُ inf. noun assembly. شَهِدَ الشَّيْءَ : He saw the thing and got information about it. شَهِدَ الْجُمُعَةَ : He was present at or got the Friday Prayer. أَشَهِدُوا خَلْقَهُمْ : Were they present at their creation )43:20( مَنْ شَهِدَ مِنْكُمُ الشَّهْرَ : whosoever of you is present at home in this month )2:186( شَهِدَ عَلَى كَذَا : He gave decisive information or testified respecting such a thing; he became a witness )شَاهِدٌ( of or to such a thing; he had knowledge of such a thing and beheld it with his eyes. شَهِدَ عِنْدَ الْحَاكِمِ بِفُلانٍ عَلَى فُلانٍ : He gave his testimony in the presence of the judge in his favour and against him. لم = 453 شنا شنا شَهِبَ شَهِدَ
