سبق سبغ His favours upon you )31:21( أَسْبَعَ الْوُضُوءَ )inf. noun اِسْبَاغُ( : He performed the ablution completely and fully. لَبِسَ دِرْعًا سَابِغَةً : He put on an ample coat of mail = دِرْعٌ سَابِغَةٌ اَسْبَغَ : A wide and long or ample coat of mail. )سَابِغَاتٌ and سَوَابِعُ plural(. أَنِ اعْمَلْ سَابِغَاتِ : Make full-length coats of mail )34:12( مَطْرَةٌ سَابِغَةٌ : A copious rain. نِعْمَةٌ سَابِغَةٌ : A full, complete, ample favour or boon. و سَبَقَ ]aor. يَسْبُقُ and يَسْبِقُ inf. noun سَبَقَهُ سَبْقٌ : He preceded him; he was or he went ahead of him; he outstripped him; he had precedence of him; he did it before him; he was or became first, foremost or beforehand; he was or became one of the first or foremost. الَّذِيْنَ سَبَقُوْنَا بِالْإِيْمَان : Who preceded us in faith No one in the world ever did : مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ الْعَلَمِينَ (59:11) it before you )7:81( سَبَقَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ : He said before he said anything. لَا يَسْبِقُوْنَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ : They do not say anything without His having taught them; they do not say until He has said it (21:28). سَبَقَ مِنْهُ الْكَلَامُ : Speech proceeded previously from him. لَوْ لَا كِتَابٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ سَبَقَ : Had it not been for an ordinance of Allah that had gone before )8:69( سَبَقَهُ عَلَى كَذَا : He had predominance over him in such a thing. سَبَقَ عَلَى قَوْمِهِ فِى الْإِكْرَامِ : He overcame his people in generosity سَابَقَةُ : He overcame him in going ahead; he strove, or contended, with him to outstrip him, or have precedence of him. سَابَقْتَهُ فَسَبَقْتَهُ : Istrove or contended with him to precede him and I overcame him in doing so. سَابِقُوْا إِلَى مَغْفِرَةٍ : Vie with one another, try to outstrip each other, in seeking forgiveness )57:22( تَسَابَقَ وَاسْتَبَقَ : He strove or contended with another to be or go ahead. اِسْتَبَقَ الْبَابَ : They both raced to the door )12:26( ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبْقُ : We went forth racing with each other )12:18( وَاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِ : Vie with one another in good works )2:149( سَابِقُوْنَ سَابِقُ and سَابِقِيْنَ )plurals) : Preceding or going ahead; one who goes ahead or precedes or outstrips others. مِنْهُمْ سَابِقُ بِالْخَيْرَاتِ : Of them are some who outstrip others in doing good )35:33( وَالسَّابِقُوْنَ السَّابِقُوْنَ : The foremost, they are the foremost )56:11( سَابَقَةٌ )feminine) and plural is سَابَقَاتُ : Those beings or angels etc. that excel others. فَاَلسُّبَقَتِ سَبْقًا : By the beings or persons completely excelling others (795) 379 inf
