ثاب ثنی two at a time and two at a time. جَاءُ وْا مَشْى : They came two and two. صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى : The Prayer of the night is two rak'ats and two rak'ats. مَشَى الْآيَادِيُّ : The repeating of a benefit. فَانْكِحُوْا مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ مِّنَ النِّسَاءِ مَثْنَى : Then marry of women as may be agreeable to you, two (at a time( )4:4( مَثَانِ or مَثَانِىَ is plural of مَشْى signifying a place of doubling or folding. اَلْمَثَانِي signifies the first Surah )الْفَاتِحَةُ( of the Holy Qur'an because it is repeated in every rak'at of the prayer or because it contains praises of God. It also signifies the Holy Qur'an altogether or the verses of the Holy Qur'an. وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعًا مِّنَ الْمَثَانِي : And We have indeed given thee the seven oft-repeated verses )15:88( مَثَانِيَ الْوَادِي : The bends of the valley. مَثَانِيَ الشَّيْءِ : The powers and capacities of a thing. كِتَابًا مُّتَشَابِهًا مَّثَانِيَ : A Book consistent by repeating its injunctions (39:24). ثَابَ ]aor. يَثُوْبُ inf. noun ثَابَ إِلَى اللَّهِ ثَوْبٌ : He returned from disobedience to obedience to God): He returned to a state of vigilance or health or soundness. تَابَ الْمَرْيِضُ : He became convalescent. ثَابَ إِلَيْهِ عَقْلُهُ : His reason returned to him ثَابَ النَّاسُ : The people collected themselves and came. ثَابَ الْمَاءُ : The water collected in the pond ثَابَ الْحَوْضُ : The pond became full or nearly full ثَابَ الْمَالُ : The property became abundant and collected. ثَابَ التَّرَابُ : The dust rose and diffused itself and became abundant. آثَابَ الرَّجُلُ : His health returned to him. آثَابَ الرَّجُلُ : He requited, recompensed, compensated or rewarded him أَتَابَ الثَّوْبَ : He sewed the garment second time. ثَوَّبَ الدَّاعِي : The caller repeated his call by making a sign with a ثَوْبٌ ie garment. تَوَّبَهُ : He requited, compensated, recompensed him and rewarded him. أَثَابَهُمْ فَتْحًا قَرِيبًا : He (God) rewarded them with a victory that was near )48:19( هَلْ ثُوبَ الْكُفَّارُ : Have the disbelievers been rewarded or recompensed for what they had been doing )83:37( ثَوَابٌ and مَثُوْبَةٌ and مَثْوَبَةٌ : A recompense, compensation, requital or reward for good or evil; honey; rain (the good that comes from clouds); bees (because they return to their hives(. ثَوَابًا مِّنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ : A reward from Allah )3196( لَمَثُوْبَةٌ مِّنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ : The reward from Allah )2:10( مَثَابَةٌ : A place to which 119
