بسق بسط face excessively, or he looked with intense dislike or hatred. بَسَرَ : He was quick or before the proper time in doing or seeking a thing. وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَاسِرَةٌ : Faces on that day shall be frowning or excessively contracted; shall be dismal. (75:25) بَسَطَ aor. يَبْسُطُ inf. noun بَسَطَهُ [بَسْطٌ : He spread it, expanded or extended it. بَسَطَ إِلَيَّ يَدَهُ : He stretched forth or extended his hand towards me. بَسَطَ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهِ : He was made to have dominion over him by absolute force and power. بَسَطَ كَفَّيْهِ فِي الدُّعَاءِ : He expanded his hands in supplication بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ : God multiplies or enlarges or makes abundant the means of subsistence. بَسَطَ الْعُذْرَ : He accepted the excuse. إِنْبَسَطَ وَجْهُهُ : His face became cheerful. بَاسِطُوْنَ بَاسِطٌ plural): Act. part meaning, one who stretches or enlarges or amplifies. بساطاً : A thing that is spread or expanded; a carpet; a bed. بَسَاطٌ : Ample. They say نَحْنُ فِي بَسَاطٍ وَسَعَةٍ : We are in an ample and plentiful state. بَسِيطٌ : Wide; spacious. هُوَ بَسِيْطُ الْيَدَيْنِ : He is a liberal or a bountiful person. هُوَ بَسِيْطُ الْوَجْهِ : He is of cheerful countenance. بَسْطَةٌ : Width or ampleness; length or height; increase, excess; height or tallness; perfection or excellence or completeness. بَصْطَة and بَسْطَةٌ are syn. وَزَادَكُمْ فِي الْخَلْقِ بَصْطَةً : And He increased you abundantly in constitution )7:70( زَادَهُ بَسْطَةً فِي الْعِلْمِ وَالْجِسْمِ : He (God) has increased him greatly in knowledge and body (2 : : A woman beautiful and sleek in body. مَبْسُوْطٌ is syn. with مَبْسُوْطٌ إِلَيْهِ . بَسِيطٌ : A liberal person. بَلْ يَدَاهُ مَبْسُوْطَتَنِ : But both His hands are wide open )5:65( جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ بِسَاطاً : He )God) has made the earth for you a wide expanse. )1:20( لَئِنْ بَسَطْتَ إِلَيَّ يَدَكَ لِتَقْتُلَنِي : If thou stretch out thy hand against me to kill me )5 : 29( وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ بَاسِطُوْا أَيْدِيْهِمْ : And the angels stretch forth their hands )6(: 94( إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ : Surely Allah enlarges the provision )28( : )83( وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ : And if Allah should enlarge the provision (42:28). امْرَأَةٌ بَسْطَةٌ .
