36 The commentary of al-Qa si dah "E" !N X F( "-E    i=[ /9jY   O Imra’ul-Qais, pause for a while in these towns where the beloved used to live, which have not been destroyed, but the winds and rain has changed their condition. ( Qa si datu B a nat Su‘ a d li-Ka‘b bin Zuhair, Maqb u l-e-‘ A m Press, Lahore, 1941 edition. ) In the same way Ka‘b bin Zuhair wrote his Qa si dah in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa which is known by the name B a nat Su‘ a d. In this Qa si dah he first talks about his separation from Su‘ a d. His physical beauty, his travels and the qualities of his mount are described, subsequent to which he praises the Holy Prophet sa. Again ‘All a mah Muhammad Al-Bu s air i starts his famous Qa si dah with the following couplets: ٖ  7  ٖ  <E( ' ! (. ( _/ < <& <l  (L ?m ' < n'  < o <. ' < ' < Are you crying with tears, which have mixed with blood, in the memory of the neighbours of Dhi-Sal a m (i. e. the people of Medina), or have you been reminded of your beloved by the wind
