The commentary of al-Qa si dah 37 blowing from Medina, or have you seen the lightning in a dark night over the hills of I d am (near Medina)? ( Qa si datul-Burdah li-‘All a mah Al-Bu s airi , p. 1, Qad i m i Kutub Kh a nah, A r a m B a gh, Karachi) However, the writer of this Qa si dah was so absorbed in love, that his beloved was present before him every moment of his life. Accordingly, he directly addresses his beloved with praises, avoiding any surrounding distractions saying: This couplet of the Qa si dah mentions a unique excellence of the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa. In this physical world we see clean and clear water flowing forth from natural springs. In the same manner, the fountainhead and source of all spiritual bounty, blessings and knowledge is the Holy Prophet Muhammad sa. He is the fountain from which all these gifts emanate.
