— Part I 110 mainly engaged in a grim battle of gaining ascendancy on this very issue. Each sect claimed to be on the right path regarding their concept of Trinity and its constituents. Despite this, they all claimed to be believers in one God. In other words, the one God that they believed in had a sort of split personality. It is largely because of this attitude that the Holy Quran has not labelled them as idolaters, but extends to them the right to continue to profess their belief in Unity. Yet despite their lip service to the Unity, in reality they act as idolators. The question arises as to the manner in which this prophecy of the Quran has come to be fulfilled. A deeper study of the verse will reveal that the displeasure of God mentioned in this regard will manifest itself in the form of great global turmoil. This indicates that inherent in the Christian beliefs is the danger of their mutual split. Hence the punishment mentioned corresponds to the crime committed. Trinity attempts to create splits within the single Person of God. As a consequence the believers in Trinity are split within themselves. The colonial policy of Christian nations of divide and rule also falls into step with this attitude. Consider now the point in time when the Renaissance, i. e. the birth of reason, logic and the quest for truth, began to blow a new breath of life into the Christian West. During this period the Christian doctrines were doubted and questioned as they clashed with man’s intellect. The Church reacted
