Violations of Justice 109 A deep contemplation of the causative factors of war and disorders in human affairs would ultimately lead to the conclusion that the above Quranic statement is certainly applicable here, as we shall establish presently. Yet in the history of Christianity, we cannot find any direct evidence of the Christian nations being the target of Allah’s wrath and displeasure due to their beliefs. On the contrary, it is they who appear, in worldly terms, to be the favoured nations. They have jointly ruled the entire world and still hold the balance of power over the non-Christian nations, so that they can be classed as being the supreme masters of the globe. Although in the last few decades, we have observed the gradual rise of the nations of the third world with a measure of independence, there is very little that has changed and the supremacy of the Christian West still prevails. In view of this, one wonders at the true import of the aforementioned Quranic statement. A study of Christianity shows that originally the belief in the Unity of God was the only belief that Christians held. The concept of Trinity and the belief that God has a son was introduced later, mainly by St. Paul. Ever since, it has been evolving into many specific understandings of this dilemma.
