58 A VERDICT REQUIRED THE SECOND FITNAH is the one inscribed on page 510 of Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya,' and it is as follows: وَإِذْ يَمْكُرُ بِكَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ . أَوْقِدْ لِي يَا هَامَانُ لَعَلَّى أَطَّلِعُ إِلَى إِلَهِ مُوسَى وَ إِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُ مِنَ الْكَذِبِينَ. تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ مَا كَانَ لَهُ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ فِيْهَا إِلَّا خَائِفًا. وَمَا أَصَابَكَ فَمِنَ اللهِ الْفِتْنَةُ هُهُنَا فَاصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُولُوا الْعَزْمِ. أَلَا إِنَّهَا فِتْنَةٌ مِّنَ اللهِ لِيُحِبَّ حُبًّا جَمًّا . حُبًّا مِّنَ اللهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْأَكْرَمِ عَطَاءً اغَيْرَ مَجْذُوْدٍ . Meaning that, Call to mind the time when the one who declared you a disbeliever shall devise a plan against you as he is in denial of your faith, and shall say, O Hāmān, prepare a fire for me (meaning, ignite the fire of denunci- ation. Hāmān refers to Nazeer Husain Dehlvi), so that I might find out about the God of Moses because I consider him to be a liar. Both hands of Abū Lahab [the Father of Flames] perished (through whom that fatwa of disbe- lief was written) and so did he perish himself. It did not behove him to enter into this affair. And as for that which afflicts you, it is from God alone. A trial will arise here, so be steadfast as the Prophets of high resolve were steadfast. ☆ 1. A vision which has been vouchsafed to me by God Almighty shows that he will believe in the end. I do not know, however, whether his believing will be only like that of Pharaoh آمَنتُ بِالَّذِي آمَنَتْ بِهِ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ** or whether he will believe like the righteous. والله أعلم Allah knows best].
