However, it is important to note that our Jama'at [Community] does not unconditionally accept a secular institution's guidance wholesale, particularly when it conflicts with our value system. Therefore, as a writing style is a reflection of an organization's values and standards, we must establish our system and apply it consistently—which, in fact, is itself the guidance from the OSG. Failure to adhere to the standards will delay the publication process. First Steps According to the Jama'at Constitution, before any member undertakes to write or translate any book on behalf of the Jama'at, written permission must be obtained from the Additional Wakalat-e-Tasnif Department (office@tasneef. co. uk), which can be accomplished through the Amir Jama'at via their local Jama'at president. Additional Wakālat-e-Taṣnīf, in turn, seeks the per- mission and guidance of Khalifatul-Masiḥ before any work is commenced. For translations, a preliminary sample of the translation should be submitted for review, consisting of five to ten pages from the work that the translator proposes to complete. This ini- tial submission is crucial so that the overall quality may be gauged in the preliminary stages.
