أُذِنَ لِلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتَلُونَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ ظُلِمُواْ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ نَصۡرِهِمۡ لَقَدِيرٌ

Permission to fight is given to those against whom war is made, because they have been wronged — and Allah indeed has power to help them —

الَّذِیۡنَ اُخۡرِجُوۡا مِنۡ دِیَارِہِمۡ بِغَیۡرِ حَقٍّ

Those who have been driven out from their homes unjustly

حَتّٰی تَضَعَ الۡحَرۡبُ اَوۡزَارَہَا

until the war lays down its burdens

قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا

He indeed truly prospers who purifies it,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

لَاۤ اِکۡرَاہَ فِی الدِّیۡنِ

There should be no compulsion in religion.

رَبَّنَا افۡتَحۡ بَیۡنَنَا وَبَیۡنَ قَوۡمِنَا بِالۡحَقِّ وَاَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡفٰتِحِیۡنَ

O our Lord, decide Thou between us and between our people with truth, and Thou art the Best of those who decide.

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ

That it is surely the word brought by a noble Messenger;

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرٖ ۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ

And it is not the word of a poet; little is it that you believe!

وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنٖ ۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you heed!

تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ

And if he had forged and attributed any sayings to Us,

لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡيَمِينِ

We would surely have seized him by the right hand,

ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِينَ

And then surely We would have severed his life-artery,

فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَٰجِزِينَ

And not one of you could have held Us off from him.

لَوۡ کَانَ فِیۡہِمَاۤ اٰلِہَۃٌ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ لَفَسَدتَا

If there had been in them (the heavens and the earth) other gods beside Allah, then surely both would have gone to ruin.

لَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَیۡنَا

if he had forged and attributed any sayings to Us

لَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَیۡسَ لَکَ بِہٖ عِلۡمٌ

follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge

وَلَا تَقُولَنَّ لِشَاْيۡءٍ إِنِّي فَاعِلٞ ذَٰلِكَ غَدًا

And say not of anything, ‘I am going to do it tomorrow,’

اِنِّیۡ فَاعِلٌ ذٰلِکَ غَدًا

I am going to do it tomorrow

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

جُمِعَ الشَّمۡسُ وَالۡقَمَرُ ۙ

the sun and the moon are brought together

وَمَا رَمَیۡتَ اِذۡ رَمَیۡتَ وَلٰکِنَّ اللّٰہَ رَمٰی

And thou threwest not when thou didst throw, but it was Allah Who threw

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

And We have sent thee not but as a mercy for all peoples.

وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُوۡلٍ یَّاۡتِیۡ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِی اسۡمُہٗۤ اَحۡمَدُ

and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

وَاتَّخِذُوۡا مِنۡ مَّقَامِ اِبۡرٰہٖمَ مُصَلًّی

and take ye the station of Abraham as a place of Prayer

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

وَلِذٰلِکَ خَلَقَہُمۡ

and for this has He created them

وَعَاشِرُوۡہُنَّ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ

and consort with them in kindness

وَمَنۡ اَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ افۡتَرٰی عَلَی اللّٰہِ کَذِبًا اَوۡ کَذَّبَ بِاٰیٰتِہٖ

And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah or gives the lie to His Signs?

اَرَءَیۡتُمۡ اِنۡ کَانَ مِنۡ عِنۡدِ اللّٰہِ ثَُّ کَفَرۡتُمۡ بِہٖ

Tell me: if it is from Allah but you disbelieve in it

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

فِیۡہَا تَحۡیَوۡنَ

Therein shall you live

وَلَکُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ مُسۡتَقَرٌّ

and for you there is an abode in the earth

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ ؕ اَفَا۠ئِنۡ مَّاتَ اَوۡ قُتِلَ انۡقَلَبۡتُمۡ عَلٰۤی اَعۡقَابِکُمۡ ؕ

And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him. If then he die or be slain, will you turn back on your heels?

کَانَا یَاۡکُلٰنِ الطَّعَامَ

They both used to eat food.

اَمۡوَاتٌ غَیۡرُ اَحۡیَآءٍ

They are dead, not living

اَوۡصٰنِیۡ بِالصَّلٰوۃِ وَالزَّکٰوۃِ مَا دُمۡتُ حَیًّا

has enjoined upon me Prayer and almsgiving so long as I live;

قُلۡ سُبۡحَانَ رَبِّیۡ ہَلۡ کُنۡتُ اِلَّا بَشَرًا رَّسُوۡلً

Say, ‘Holy is my Lord! I am not but a man sent as a Messenger.’

لَنۡ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّۃِ اللّٰہِ تَبۡدِیۡلً

thou shalt not find any change in the law of Allah

رَافِعُکَ اِلَیَّ

will exalt thee to Myself

بَلۡ رَّفَعَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَیۡہِ

On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself

بَلۡ رَّفَعَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَیۡہِ

On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself

فَلَا تَکُنۡ فِیۡ مِۡیَۃٍ مِّنۡ لِّقَآئِہٖ

be not therefore in doubt as to the meeting with Him

رَافِعُکَ اِلَیَّ

will exalt thee to Myself

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

اِنَّ اِبۡرٰہِیۡمَ لَاَوَّاہٌ حَلِیۡمٌ

Surely, Abraham was most tender-hearted, forbearing.

اَخۡلَدَ اِلَی الۡاَرۡضِ

he inclined to the earth

ارۡجِعِیۡۤ اِلٰی رَبِّکِ

Return to thy Lord

لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَہُمۡ اَبۡوَابُ السَّمَآءِ

the gates of the spiritual firmament will not be opened for them

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ وَلَا الضَّآلِّیۡنَ

Those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

مَا قَتَلُوۡہُ وَمَا صَلَبُوۡہُ وَلٰکِنۡ شُبِّہَ لَہُمۡ

they slew him not, nor crucified him, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified

بَلۡ رَّفَعَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَیۡہِ

On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself

فَمَاذَا بَعۡدَ الۡحَقِّ اِلَّا الضَّلٰلُ

So what would you have after discarding the truth except error?

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

کُنۡتُمۡ خَیۡرَ اُمَّۃٍ اُخۡرِجَتۡ لِلنَّاسِ

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind

لَخَلۡقُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ اَکۡبَرُ مِنۡ خَلۡقِ النَّاسِ

Certainly, the creation of the heavens and the earth is greater than the creation of mankind;

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ ۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمۡ شَرُّ ٱلۡبَرِيَّةِ

Verily, those who disbelieve from among the People of the Book and the idolaters will be in the Fire of Hell, abiding therein. They are the worst of creatures.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمۡ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡبَرِيَّةِ

Verily, those who believe and do good works — they are the best of creatures.

کُنۡتُمۡ خَیۡرَ اُمَّۃٍ اُخۡرِجَتۡ لِلنَّاسِ

You are the best people raised for the good of mankind

وَعَدَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡکُمۡ وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَیَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّہُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them;

يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطۡفِـُٔواْ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَٱللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِۦ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

that He may cause it to prevail over all religions

کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

as He made Successors from among those who were before them

کَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلٰی فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُوۡلً

even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh

کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

as He made Successors from among those who were before them

کَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلٰی فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُوۡلًا

even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

عَٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ فَلَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا

He is the Knower of the unseen; and He reveals not His secrets to any one,

اِلَّا مَنِ ارۡتَضٰی

Except to him whom He chooses

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ

And the sun and the moon are brought together,

مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ

namely a Messenger

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ

And the sun and the moon are brought together,

لَا یُظۡہِرُ عَلٰی غَیۡبِہٖۤ اَحَدًا

e reveals not His secrets to any one,

لَا یُظۡہِرُ عَلٰی غَیۡبِہٖۤ اَحَدًا

e reveals not His secrets to any one,

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ

And the sun and the moon are brought together,

لَا یُظۡہِرُ عَلٰی غَیۡبِہٖۤ اَحَدًا

e reveals not His secrets to any one,

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ

And the sun and the moon are brought together,

وَلَا تَکۡتُمُوا الشَّہَادَۃَ ؕ وَمَنۡ یَّکۡتُمۡہَا فَاِنَّہٗۤ اٰثِمٌ قَلۡبُہٗ

And conceal not testimony; and whoever conceals it, his heart is certainly sinful.

وَسَیَعۡلَمُ الَّذِیۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡۤا اَیَّ مُنۡقَلَبٍ یَّنۡقَلِبُوۡنَ

And the wrongdoers will soon know to what place of return they shall return.

یٰعِیۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ وَرَافِعُکَ اِلَیَّ

O Jesus, I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیۡنکُمۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

وَلٰکِن رَّسُوۡلَ اللّٰہِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِیّٖنَ

but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي ٱرۡتَضَىٰ لَهُمۡ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِهِمۡ أَمۡنٗا ۚ يَعۡبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشۡرِكُونَ بِي شَيۡـٔٗا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ

Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear: They will worship Me, and they will not associate anything with Me. Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious.

قُلۡنَا يَٰنَارُ كُونِي بَرۡدٗا وَسَلَٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ

We said, ‘O fire, be thou cold and a means of safety for Abraham!’

قَالَتِ الۡاَعۡرَابُ اٰمَنَّا ؕ قُلۡ لَّمۡ تُؤۡمِنُوۡا وَلٰکِنۡ قُوۡلُوۡۤا اَسۡلَمۡنَا وَلَمَّا یَدۡخُلِ الۡاِیۡمَانُ فِیۡ قُلُوۡبِکُمۡ

The Arabs of the desert say, ‘We believe.’ Say, 'You have not believed yet; but rather say, "We have accepted Islam," for the true belief has not yet entered into your hearts.'

وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي ٱرۡتَضَىٰ لَهُمۡ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِهِمۡ أَمۡنٗا ۚ يَعۡبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشۡرِكُونَ بِي شَيۡـٔٗا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

وَاِذۡ تَاَذَّنَ رَبُّکَ لَیَبۡعَثَنَّ عَلَیۡہِمۡ اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ مَنۡ یَّسُوۡمُہُمۡ سُوۡٓءَ الۡعَذَابِ

And remember the time when thy Lord proclaimed that He would truly raise against them, till the Day of Resurrection, those who would afflict them with grievous torment.

ضُرِبَتۡ عَلَیۡہِمُ الذِّلَّۃُ وَالۡمَسۡکَنَۃُ

they were smitten with abasement and destitution

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

وَقَوۡلِہِمۡ عَلٰی مَرۡیَمَ بُہۡتَانًا عَظِیۡمًا

and their uttering against Mary a grievous calumny

کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ

as He made Successors

الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

from among those who were before them

کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

as He made Successors from among those who were before them

إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ ۖ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٖ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Surely, the case of Jesus with Allah is like the case of Adam. He created him out of dust, then He said to him, ‘Be!,’ and he was.

لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

that He may cause it to prevail over all religions

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَلَمۡ يَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ عِوَجَا ۜ

All praise belongs to Allah Who has sent down the Book to His servant and has not put therein any crookedness.

قَيِّمٗا لِّيُنذِرَ بَأۡسٗا شَدِيدٗا مِّن لَّدُنۡهُ وَيُبَشِّرَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ أَنَّ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرًا حَسَنٗا

He has made it a guardian, that it may give warning of a grievous chastisement from Him, and that it may give the believers who do good deeds the glad tidings that they shall have a good reward,

مَّـٰكِثِينَ فِيهِ أَبَدٗا

Wherein they shall abide for ever;

وَيُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدٗا

And that it may warn those who say, ‘ Allah has taken unto Himself a son.’

مَّا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٖ وَلَا لِأٓبَآئِهِمۡ ۚ كَبُرَتۡ كَلِمَةٗ تَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ أَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ ۚ إِن يَقُولُونَ إِلَّا كَذِبٗا

No knowledge have they thereof, nor had their fathers. Grievous is the word that comes from their mouths. They speak naught but a lie.

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ وَلَا الضَّآلِّیۡنَ

Those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

تَبَّتۡ يَدَآ أَبِي لَهَبٖ وَتَبَّ

Perished be the two hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish.

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡۤ اَرۡسَلَ رَسُوۡلَہٗ بِالۡہُدٰی َدِیۡنِ الۡحَقِّ لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions,

تَبَّتۡ يَدَآ أَبِي لَهَبٖ وَتَبَّ

Perished be the two hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَاطَ الَّذِیۡنَ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings,

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One;

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ

‘Allah, the Independent and Besought of all.

لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ

‘He begets not, nor is He begotten;

وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ

‘And there is none like unto Him.’

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One;

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ

‘Allah, the Independent and Besought of all.

لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ

‘He begets not, nor is He begotten;

وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدُۢ

‘And there is none like unto Him.’

قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡفَلَقِ

Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn,

مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

‘From the evil of that which He has created,

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ

‘And from the evil of the night when it overspreads,

وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَٰتِ فِي ٱلۡعُقَدِ

‘And from the evil of those who blow into knots to undo them,

وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ

‘And from the evil of the envier when he envies.’

قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ

Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,

مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ

‘The King of mankind,

إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ

‘The God of mankind,

مِن شَرِّ ٱلۡوَسۡوَاسِ ٱلۡخَنَّاسِ

‘From the evil of the sneaking whisperer,

ٱلَّذِي يُوَسۡوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ

‘Who whispers into the hearts of men,

مِنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ

‘From among the Jinn and mankind.’

وَاَلۡقَیۡنَا بَیۡنَہُمُ الۡعَدَاوَۃَ وَالۡبَغۡضَآءَ اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

We have cast among them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A large party from among the early Muslims,

وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

And a large party from the later ones.

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A large party from among the early Muslims,

وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

And a large party from the later ones.

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ

And among others from among them

مَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

those who have incurred Thy displeasure

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ

And the sun and the moon are brought together,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

those who have not incurred Thy displeasure

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ

And the sun and the moon are brought together,

إِذَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ كُوِّرَتۡ

When the sun is wrapped up,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتۡ

And when the mountains are made to move,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتۡ

When the heaven is cleft asunder,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتۡ

And when the stars are scattered,

وَإِذَا ٱلۡبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتۡ

And when the rivers are made to flow forth into canals,

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتۡ

And when the stars are obscured,

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتۡ

And when people are brought together,

وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتۡ

And when books are spread abroad.

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ

When the heaven bursts asunder,

ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ

The Hour has drawn nigh, and the moon is rent asunder.

وَإِذَا ٱلۡوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتۡ

And when the beasts are gathered together,

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ

And when the Messengers are made to appear at the appointed time —

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتۡ

And when the Messengers are made to appear at the appointed time —

اِنَّ یَوۡمًا عِنۡدَ رَبِّکَ کَاَلۡفِ سَنَۃٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّوۡنَ

verily, a day with thy Lord is as a thousand years of your reckoning.

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیۡنَکُۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you

ثُمَّ اَنۡشَاۡنٰہُ خَلۡقًا اٰخَرَ

then We developed it into another creation

وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُوۡلٍ یَّاۡتِیۡ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِی اسۡمُہٗۤ اَحۡمَدُ

and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوۡلُ اللّٰہِ ؕ وَالَّذِیۡنَ مَعَہٗۤ اَشِدَّآءُ عَلَی الۡکُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَیۡنَہُمۡ

Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. And those who are with him are hard against the disbelievers, tender among themselves.

وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُوۡلٍ یَّاۡتِیۡ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِی اسۡمُہٗۤ اَحۡمَدُ

and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یُغَیِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتّٰی یُغَیِّرُوۡا مَا بِاَنۡفُسِہِمۡ

Surely, Allah changes not the condition of a people until they change that which is in their hearts

اِنِّیۡ مُتَوَفِّیۡکَ وَرَافِعُکَ اِلَیَّ وَمُطَہِّرُکَ مِنَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

I will cause thee to die a natural death and will exalt thee to Myself, and will clear thee from the charges of those who disbelieve, and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection;

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیۡنَکُۡ وَاَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ نِعۡمَتِیۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you

وَّنُفِخَ فِی الصُّوۡرِ فَجَمَعۡنٰہُمۡ جَمۡعًا

And the trumpet will be blown. Then shall We gather them all together.

لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

that He may cause it to prevail over all religions

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیَۡکُمۡ

This day have I perfected your religion for you

قُلۡ یٰۤاَیُّہَا النَّاسُ اِنِّیۡ رَسُوۡلُ اللّٰہِ اِلَیۡکُمۡ جَمِیۡعَا

Say, ‘O mankind! truly I am a Messenger to you all from Allah.'

وَلکِنۡ رَّسُوۡلَ اللّٰہِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِیّٖنَ

but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets

لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

that He may cause it to prevail over all religions

لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

that He may cause it to prevail over all religions

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

یَتۡلُوۡا صُحُفًا مُّطَہَّرَۃً

reciting unto them the pure Scriptures

فِيهَا كُتُبٞ قَيِّمَةٞ

Therein are lasting commandments.

اَلۡیَوۡمَ اَکۡمَلۡتُ لَکُمۡ دِیۡنَکُم

This day have I perfected your religion for you

قُلۡ یٰۤاَیُّہَا النَّاسُ اِنِّیۡ رَسُوۡلُ اللّٰہِ اِلَیۡکُمۡ جَمِیۡعَا

Say, ‘O mankind! truly I am a Messenger to you all from Allah.'

لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

that He may cause it to prevail over all religions

یَتۡلُوۡا صُحُفًا مُّطَہَّرَۃً

فِيهَا كُتُبٞ قَيِّمَةٞ

Therein are lasting commandments.

إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَٰفِظُونَ

Verily, We Ourself have sent down this Exhortation, and most surely We will be its Guardian.

الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

اِنَّکَ لَفِیۡ ضَلٰلِکَ الۡقَدِیۡمِ

thou art assuredly in thy old error

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One;

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ

and We found in him no determination to disobey.

مِّنۡ کُلِّ حَدَبٍ یَّنۡسِلُوۡنَ

they shall hasten forth from every height.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعٗا ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَسَوَّىٰهُنَّ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ ۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٞ

He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth; then He turned towards the heavens, and He perfected them as seven heavens; and He knows all things.

وَإِذۡ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّي جَاعِلٞ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ خَلِيفَةٗ ۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَتَجۡعَلُ فِيهَا مَن يُفۡسِدُ فِيهَا وَيَسۡفِكُ ٱلدِّمَآءَ وَنَحۡنُ نُسَبِّحُ بِحَمۡدِكَ وَنُقَدِّسُ لَكَ ۖ قَالَ إِنِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

And when thy Lord said to the angels: ‘I am about to place a vicegerent in the earth,’ they said: ‘Wilt Thou place therein such as will cause disorder in it, and shed blood? — and we glorify Thee with Thy praise and extol Thy holiness.’ He answered: ‘I know what you know not.’

خَلَقۡتَنِیۡ مِنۡ نَّارٍ

Thou hast created me of fire

فَقَضَىٰهُنَّ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَاتٖ فِي يَوۡمَيۡنِ وَأَوۡحَىٰ فِي كُلِّ سَمَآءٍ أَمۡرَهَا ۚ وَزَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَحِفۡظٗا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ

So He completed them into seven heavens in two days, and He revealed to each heaven its function. And We adorned the lowest heaven with lamps for light and for protection. That is the decree of the Mighty, the All-Knowing.

ہُوَ الَّذِیۡ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ فِیۡ سِتَّۃِ اَیَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسۡتَوٰی عَلَی الۡعَرۡشِ

He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, then He settled Himself on the Throne.

اِنِّیۡۤ اَعۡلَمُ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

I know what you know not.

وَاَوۡحٰی فِیۡ کُلِّ سَمَآءٍ اَمۡرَہَا

and He revealed to each heaven its function

وَزَیَّنَّا السَّمَآءَ الدُّنۡیَا بِمَصَابِیۡحَ وَحِفۡظًا

And We adorned the lowest heaven with lamps for light and for protection.

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, ‘He is Allah, the One;

لَمۡ يَلِدۡ وَلَمۡ يُولَدۡ

‘He begets not, nor is He begotten;

وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ

‘And from the evil of the night when it overspreads,

قُلۡ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلۡفَلَقِ

Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn,

تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرۡنَ مِنۡهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلۡجِبَالُ هَدًّا

The heavens might well-nigh burst thereat, and the earth cleave asunder, and the mountains fall down in pieces,

مَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

کَانَا یَاۡکُلٰنِ الطَّعَامَ

They both used to eat food.

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ کُنۡتَ اَنۡتَ الرَّقِیۡبَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die, Thou hast been the Watcher over them

فِیۡہَا تَحۡیَوۡنَ وَفِیۡہَا تَمُوۡتُوۡنَ

Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die

وَٱلَّتِيٓ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا وَٱبۡنَهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

And remember her who preserved her chastity; so We breathed into her of Our word and We made her and her son a Sign for peoples.

إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ

Verily, this is your people — one people; and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

وَتَقَطَّعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَهُم بَيۡنَهُمۡ ۖ كُلٌّ إِلَيۡنَا رَٰجِعُونَ

But they have become divided among themselves in their affair; and all will return to Us.

فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَلَا كُفۡرَانَ لِسَعۡيِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَٰتِبُونَ

So whoever does good works and is a believer, his effort will not be disregarded and We shall surely record it.

وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

And it is an inviolable law for a township which We have destroyed that they shall not return.

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ يَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٖ يَنسِلُونَ

It shall be so even when Gog and Magog are let loose and they shall hasten forth from every height.

وَاقۡتَرَبَ الۡوَعۡدُ الۡحَقُّ

And the true promise draws nigh

وَشَارِکۡہُمۡ فِی الۡاَمۡوَالِ وَالۡاَوۡلَادِ

and be their partner in wealth, and children

لَا یَلِدُوۡۤا اِلَّا فَاجِرًا کَفَّرًا

They will not give birth but to a sinner and a disbeliever.

فَقَدۡ اٰتَیۡنَاۤ اٰلَ اِبۡرٰہِیۡمَ الۡکِتٰبَ

surely, We gave the Book to the children of Abraham

قَالَ عَسٰی رَبُّکُمۡ اَنۡ یُّہۡلِکَ عَدُوَّکُمۡ وَیَسۡتَخۡلِفَکُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ فَیَنۡظُرَ کَیۡفَ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ

He said, ‘Your Lord is about to destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land, that He may then see how you act.’

وَالۡحِکۡمَۃَ وَاٰتَیۡنٰہُمۡ مُّلۡکًا عَظِیۡمًا

and Wisdom to the children of Abraham also and We also gave them a great kingdom.

اِنَّاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡکُمۡ رَسُوۡلًا ۬ۙ شَاہِدًا عَلَیۡکُمۡ کَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلٰی فِرۡعَوۡنَ

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُولٗا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولٗا

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

قَالُوٓاْ أُوذِينَا مِن قَبۡلِ أَن تَأۡتِيَنَا وَمِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جِئۡتَنَا ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُهۡلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمۡ وَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيۡفَ تَعۡمَلُونَ

They replied, ‘We were persecuted before thou camest to us and even after thou camest to us.’ He said, ‘Your Lord is about to destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land, that He may then see how you act.’

ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ خَلَـٰٓئِفَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ لِنَنظُرَ كَيۡفَ تَعۡمَلُونَ

Then, We made you their successors in the earth after them, that We might see how you would act.

کَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ

as He made Successors from among those who were before them

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُولٗا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُولٗا

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

غُلِبَتِ ٱلرُّومُ

The Romans have been defeated,

اِنَّ عِبَادِیۡ لَیۡسَ لَکَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ سُلۡطٰنٌ

‘Surely, thou shalt have no power over My servants

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

وَاِنۡ مِّنۡ اَہۡلِ الۡکِتٰبِ اِلَّا لَیُؤۡمِنَنَّ بِہٖ قَبۡلَ مَوۡتہٖ

And there is none among the People of the Book but will believe in it before his death

فَاَغۡرَیۡنَا بَیۡنَہُمُ الۡعَدَاوَۃَ وَالۡبَغۡضَآءَ اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

So We have caused enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection.

وَاَلۡقَیۡنَا بَیۡنَہُمُ الۡعَدَاوَۃَ وَالۡبَغۡضَآءَ اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

We have cast among them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

فِیۡہَا تَحۡیَوۡنَ وَفِیۡہَا تَمُوۡتُوۡنَ

Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die

اَمۡوَاتٌ غَیۡرُ اَحۡیَآءٍ

They are dead, not living

وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

And it is an inviolable law for a township which We have destroyed that they shall not return.

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ يَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٖ يَنسِلُونَ

It shall be so even when Gog and Magog are let loose and they shall hasten forth from every height.

وَاقۡتَرَبَ الۡوَعۡدُ الۡحَقُّ

And the true promise draws nigh

مِنۡہُمۡ شَقِیٌّ وَّسَعِیۡد

some of them will prove unfortunate and others fortunate

وَلِذٰلِکَ خَلَقَہُمۡ

and for this has He created them

اَغۡرَیۡنَا بَیۡنَہُمُ الۡعَدَاوَۃَ وَالۡبَغۡضَآءَ اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

اَلۡقَیۡنَا بَیۡنَہُمُ الۡعَدَاوَۃَ وَالۡبَغۡضَآءَ اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us in the right path —

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.

وَہُمۡ مِّنۡ کُلِّ حَدَبٍ یَّنۡسِلُوۡنَ

and they shall hasten forth from every height.

وَاقۡتَرَبَ الۡوَعۡدُ الۡحَقُّ

وَأَخۡرَجَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ أَثۡقَالَهَا

And the earth brings forth her burdens,

وَأَخۡرَجَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ أَثۡقَالَهَا

And the earth brings forth her burdens,

وَیَغۡفِرُ مَا دُوۡنَ ذٰلِکَ

He will forgive whatever is short of that

غَیۡرِ الۡمَغۡضُوۡبِ عَلَیۡہِمۡ

those who have not incurred Thy displeasure

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

فَإِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرًا

Surely there is ease after hardship.

إِنَّ مَعَ ٱلۡعُسۡرِ يُسۡرٗا

Aye, surely there is ease after hardship.

قُلۡنَا یٰنَارُ کُوۡنِیۡ بَرۡدًا

We said, ‘O fire, be thou cold'

عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ

The Lord of mighty powers has taught him,

وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ

Nor does he speak out of his own desire.

إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ

It is nothing but pure revelation that has been revealed by God.

عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ

The Lord of mighty powers has taught him,

فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّیۡتَنِیۡ

but since Thou didst cause me to die

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِ الرُّسُلُ

And Muhammad is only a Messenger. Verily, all Messengers have passed away before him

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

رَبَّنَا افۡتَحۡ بَیۡنَنَا وَبَیۡنَ قَوۡمِنَا بِالۡحَقِّ وَاَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡفٰتِحِیۡنَ

O our Lord, decide Thou between us and between our people with truth, and Thou art the Best of those who decide.

لَوۡ کَانَ فِیۡہِمَاۤ اٰلِہَۃٌ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ لَفَسَدتَا

If there had been in them (the heavens and the earth) other gods beside Allah, then surely both would have gone to ruin.

وَلَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَیۡسَ لَکَ بِہٖ عِلۡمٌ

And follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge

وَلَا تَقُولَنَّ لِشَاْيۡءٍ إِنِّي فَاعِلٞ ذَٰلِكَ غَدًا

And say not of anything, ‘I am going to do it tomorrow,’

وَإِذَا ٱلۡعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتۡ

And when the she-camels, tenmonth pregnant, are abandoned,

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ

And the sun and the moon are brought together,

اٰمَنۡتُ اَنَّہٗ لَاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا الَّذِیۡۤ اٰمَنَتۡ بِہٖ بَنُوۡۤا اِسۡرَآءِیۡلَ

I believe that there is no God but He in Whom the children of Israel believe

وَاتَّخِذُوۡا مِنۡ مَّقَامِ اِبۡرٰہٖمَ مُصَلًّی

and take ye the station of Abraham as a place of Prayer

وَمَا رَمَیۡتَ اِذۡ رَمَیۡتَ وَلٰکِنَّ اللّٰہَ رَمٰی

And thou threwest not when thou didst throw, but it was Allah Who threw

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

And We have sent thee not but as a mercy for all peoples.

وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُوۡلٍ یَّاۡتِیۡ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِی اسۡمُہٗۤ اَحۡمَدُ

and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّبَعُوۡکَ فَوۡقَ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ

and will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection

وَلِذٰلِکَ خَلَقَہُمۡ

and for this has He created them

وَعَاشِرُوۡہُنَّ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ

and consort with them in kindness

اِذًا لَّاَذَقۡنٰکَ ضِعۡفَ الۡحَیٰوۃِ وَضِعۡفَ الۡمَمَاتِ

In that case We would have made thee taste similar afflictions of life and similar afflictions of death

وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَیۡنَا

And if he had forged and attributed any sayings to Us

وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَیۡنَا

And if he had forged and attributed any sayings to Us

وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَیۡنَا

And if he had forged and attributed any sayings to Us

وَمَنۡ اَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ افۡتَرٰی عَلَی اللّٰہِ کَذِبًا اَوۡ کَذَّبَ بِاٰیٰتِہٖ

And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah or gives the lie to His Signs?

قَدۡ خَابَ مَنِ افۡتَرٰی

surely, he who forges a lie shall perish

مَا لَكُمۡ كَيۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ

What is the matter with you? How judge ye?

اِنۡ یَّکُ کَاذِبًا فَعَلَیۡہِ کَذِبُہٗ ۚ وَاِنۡ یَّکُ صَادِقًا یُّصِبۡکُمۡ بَعۡضُ الَّذِیۡ یَعِدُکُمۡ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یَہۡدِیۡ مَنۡ ہُوَ مُسۡرِفٌ کَذَّابٌ

If he be a liar, on him will be the sin of his lie; but if he is truthful, then some of that which he threatens you with will surely befall you. Certainly Allah guides not one who is a transgressor, and a liar.

وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَیۡنَا

And if he had forged and attributed any sayings to Us

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ

This indeed is what is taught in the former Scriptures —

صُحُفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ

The Scriptures of Abraham and Moses.

مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوۡلُ اللّٰہِ ؕ وَالَّذِیۡنَ مَعَہٗۤ اَشِدَّآءُ َلَی الۡکُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَیۡنَہُمۡ تَرٰٮہُمۡ رُکَّعًا سُجَّدًا یَّبۡتَغُوۡنَ فَضۡلًا مِّنَ اللّٰہِ وَرِضۡوَانًا ۫ سِیۡمَاہُمۡ فِیۡ وُجُوۡہِہِمۡ مِّنۡ اَثَرِ السُّجُوۡدِ ؕ ذٰلِکَ مَثَلُہُمۡ فِی التَّوۡرٰٮۃِ

Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. And those who are with him are hard against the disbelievers, tender among themselves. Thou seest them bowing and prostrating themselves in Prayer, seeking grace from Allah and His pleasure. Their mark is upon their faces, being the traces of prostrations. This is their description in the Torah.

وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُوۡلٍ یَّاۡتِیۡ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِی اسۡمُہٗۤ اَحۡمَدُ

and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.

تَضَعَ الۡحَرۡبُ اَوۡزَارَہَا

until the war lays down its burdens

لِیُظۡہِرَہٗ عَلَی الدِّیۡنِ کُلِّہٖ

that He may cause it to prevail over all religions

وَّاٰخَرِیۡنَ مِنۡہُمۡ لَمَّا یَلۡحَقُوۡا بِہِمۡ

And among others from among them who have not yet joined them

رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ

Lord of all the worlds

الرَّحۡمٰنِ

The Gracious

إِنَّا فَتَحۡنَا لَكَ فَتۡحٗا مُّبِينٗا

Verily, We have granted thee a clear victory,

لِّیَغۡفِرَ لَکَ اللّٰہُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنۡ ذَنۡۢبِکَ وَمَا تَاَخَّرَ

That Allah may cover up for thee thy shortcomings, past and future

وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer,

لَّعۡنَتَ اللّٰہِ عَلَی الۡکٰذِبِیۡنَ

The curse of Allah on those who lie.

وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer,

لَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَیۡسَ لَکَ بِہٖ عِلۡمٌ

follow not that of which thou hast no knowledge

وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer,

لَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ

And if he had forged and attributed to Us

لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ

Which none shall touch except those who are purified.
