CH. 89 AL-FAJR PT. 30 هَلْ فِي ذَلِكَ قَسَمُ لِذِي حِجْرٍة اَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادِةُ إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِة الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقُ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِةُ 6. Is there not in it strong of one evidence for understanding?4710 7. Hast thou not seen how thy Lord dealt with ‘Ād―4711 8. The tribe of Iram, possessors of lofty buildings, 4712 9. The like of whom have not been created in these parts— 4713 وَثَمُودَ الَّذِيْنَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِقُ And with Thamid who. 10 hewed out rocks in valley,4714 the 7:75; 26:150. renaissance being wrought at the hands of the Promised Messiah, the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Movement. 4710. Important Words: ✰ (understanding) is inf. noun from which means, he prevented, he hindered, debarred, withheld. They sayi. e. such a one is in the protection of such a one. means, the anterior pudendum of a man and of a woman; relationship; understanding, intelligence or reason. means, a person who possesses understanding (Lane & Aqrab). Commentary: The prophecy contained in the above verses constitutes an invincible argument in support of the Divine origin of the Quran. 4711. Commentary: The 'Ad were a powerful and prosperous people of antiquity. They defied their Prophet Hūd and were 3372 destroyed. For a detailed note on ‘Ād and Thamud see 11:62. 4712. Important Words: lad (lofty buildings) is the plural of which are both derived عمارة and عمود from lac. They say a i. e. he supported it. means, I relied upon him in such a case. c means, lofty buildings. possessing lofty buildings supported by columns or possessing tallness; ذات means, ,means فلان رفيع العماد possessor of tents such a one is a person of exalted means, he is the هو عماد القوم. nobility support of his people (Lane & Aqrab). 4713. Commentary: The verse signifies that ‘Ād were a very powerful people in their time. They excelled their contemporary nations in material means resources. 4714. Commentary: See 7:75 & 11:62. and
