PT. 24 CH. 41 15. When their ḤĀ MĪM AS-SAJDAH came to them from before them إِذْ جَاءَتْهُمُ الرُّسُلُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ Messengers وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا الله :and from behind them, saying قَالُوْالَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّنَا لَا نُزَلَ مَلَكَةً فَإِنَّا ,said: “If our Lord had so willed بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُمْ بِهِ كَفِرُونَ "Worship none but Allah,' they He would certainly have sent down angels. So we do disbelieve in that with which you have been sent. '3567 فَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ As for Ad, they behaved. 16 arrogantly in the earth without الْحَقِّ وَقَالُوا مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً أَوَلَمْ any justification and said, “Who ?is mightier than we in power يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ اَشَدُّ Do they not see that Allah, Who مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَكَانُوا بِايْتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي created them, is mightier than they in power? Still they continued Signs. 3568 to deny Our 17. So 'We sent upon them a furious wind for several أَيَّامٍ نَحِسَاتٍ لِنُذِيقَهُمْ عَذَبَ ominous days, that we might make them taste the punishment الْخِزْيِ فِي الْحَيَوةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلَعَذَابُ of humiliation in this life. And "2:84; 12:41; 17:24. b46:25. peoples in different periods of time. Invariably they were rejected by their peoples and the rejecters met with a sad fate. The Holy Prophet is asked to warn his own people that if they rejected and opposed him, they, too, will meet with no better fate. The verse under comment cites the examples of ‘Ād and Thamud who by rejecting their Prophets incurred God's displeasure and punishment. 3567. Commentary: The verse means to say that the Prophets of God used all possible the Divine Message and also warned means to make their people accept them of Divine punishment if they rejected it. 2806 3568.
