CH. 40 R. 8. AL-MU'MIN PT. 24 and that with which We sent Our Messengers. But soon will they come to know, b أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِيْنَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي أَيْتِ اللهِ Hast thou not seen those. 70 اتي يُصْرَفُونَ معانقة ١٣ who dispute concerning the Signs of Allah? How they are being turned away from the truth!3545 الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوا بِالْكِتَبِ وَ بِمَا اَرْسَلْنَا بِهِ Those who reject the Book. 71 قف رُسُلَنَا فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ إِذِ الْأَغْلَلُ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَالسَّلسِلُ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي الْحَمِيمِ ثُمَّ فِي النَّارِ يُسْجَرُونَ ثُمَّ قِيْلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ ) b مِنْ دُونِ اللهِ قَالُوا ضَلُّوا عَنَّا بَلْ لَّمْ Beside Allah? They will. 75 72. "When the iron-collars are round their necks, and chains too. And they are dragged 3546 73. Into boiling water; then in the Fire they are burnt. 3547 74. Then it is said to them, 'Where are those whom you associated with God say, d. They have vanished away a13:14; 22:9; 31:21. 36:9; 76:5. 10:5; 55:45; 78:26. d41:49. The word (be) does not here denote command; but expresses a desire or wish. For significance of this word see 19:36. 3545. Commentary: This and the following six verses warn disbelievers that they should not hurriedly reject the Holy Prophet because the denial of truth has never produced good results and the rejecters have always suffered the evil consequences of their rejection. 3546. Important Words: (dragged) is derived from 2794 ow. They say dow i. e. he dragged or drew him or it along. ✓✓w (clouds) are so called perhaps because they are dragged along by the winds (Lane). 3547. Important Words: they are burnt) is derived) يسجرون from. They say i. e. he filled the oven with firewood and means, the سجر الماء النهر. made it hot اذا البحار سجرت water filled the streamlet means, when the seas shall be filled or when they shall overflow or when they shall be set on fire (Lane).
