PT. 23 YĀ SIN CH. 36 الْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَنْسِلُوْنَ they will hasten on to their <mark><mark><mark><mark>Lord</mark></mark></mark></mark>. 3247 53. They will say, 'O! woe to قَالُوْا يُوَيْلَنَا مَنْ بَعَثَنَا مِنْ مَّرْقَدِنَا هَذَا us! <mark>who</mark> has raised us from our E مَا وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَنُ وَصَدَقَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ place of sleep? This is what the * Gracious <mark><mark>God</mark></mark> had promised, and the Messengers indeed spoke the truth. '3248 اِنْ كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَاهُمْ It will be but one blast and. 54 جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ lo! they will all be brought before Us. 3249 فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا وَ لَا تُجْزَوْنَ And on that day, no soul. 55 will be wronged in aught; nor will you be requited but for what you used to do. إِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ 3247. Commentary: "3:26; 40:18; 45:23. The words "the trumpet shall be blown" may signify, besides the blowing of the trumpet on the Judgement Day, the appearance of a great Divine Reformer at <mark>who</mark>se clarion call those <mark>who</mark> are spiritually dead will rise from their graves (their state of spiritual death) and hasten to listen to and accept the Divine summons. 3248. Commentary: Taken in its literal sense the verse presents no difficulty. It purports to say that when on the Judgement Day men will be raised and disbelievers confronted with their evil deeds, and punishment will stare them in the face, they will be seized with despair and will cry in consternation, "Woe to us! <mark>who</mark> has raised us from our place of sleep?" To continue, however, the metaphor of the preceding verse, the verse under comment applies to those people <mark>who</mark> at the time of the appearance of a Prophet of <mark><mark>God</mark></mark> do not listen to the Divine Call and 2665 prefer to remain in their existing state of spiritual death. At hearing the Divine Call, they exclaim: "Why should anyone disturb the even tenor of our lives and cause commotion and excitement amongst us by inviting us to follow him and adopt a new way of life?" 3249. Commentary: The verse means to say that disbelievers will be seized with a swift and sudden punishment and will find themselves standing before <mark><mark>God</mark></mark>'s Judgement Seat, i. e. they will be brought face to face with the
