PT. 20 AN-NAML CH. 27 فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللهِ إِنَّكَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ ;So put thy trust in Allah. 80 الْمُبِينِ surely thou standest on manifest truth. إِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْلى وَلَا تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ Verily, thou canst not make. 81 الدُّعَاءَ إِذَا وَلَوْا مُدْبِرِينَ b the dead to hear, nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call, when they turn back retreating. 2865 وَمَا أَنْتَ بِهْدِى الْعُنِي عَنْ ضَللَتِهِمْ And thou canst not guide. 82 the blind out of their error. Commentary: The words, "when they turn back retreating", can equally be applied to both "the dead" and "the deaf", thus making it clear that "the dead" mentioned here are "the spiritually dead" as the blind in the next verse are "the spiritually blind". Wherever in the Quran the Holy Prophet is mentioned with reference to "the dead" they are the "spiritually dead" or "the dead of heart" (8:25). 2866.
