CH. 27 PT. 19 AN-NAML 50. They said, “Swear one to another by Allah that we will قَالُوا تَقَاسَمُوْا بِاللَّهِ لَنُبَيْتَنَهُ وَأَهْلَهُ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيْهِ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِ surely attack him and his family وَإِنَّا نَصدِقُوْنَ by night, and then we will say to his heir, 'We witnessed not the destruction of his family, and most surely we are truthful. ”2849 وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرًا وَ مَكَرْنَا مَكْرًا وَهُمْ ,And they planned a plan. 51 لَا يَشْعُرُونَ and We also planned a plan, but they perceived it not. 2850 فَانْظُرُ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنَّا Then see how evil was the. 52 داود رنگ دَمْرُنَهُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ utterly destroyed them and their end of their plan! Verily, We people all together. 2851 فَتِلْكَ بُيُوتُهُمْ خَاوِيَةً بِمَا ظَلَمُوا إِنَّ And yonder are their houses. 53 فِي ذُلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُوْنَ fallen down, because of their wrongdoing. In that verily is a Sign for a people who have knowledge. 3:55; 8:31; 13:43; 14:47. b7:79; 11:68. 2849. Important Words: (We will surely attack him by night) is derived from. They say i. e. he passed the night in the place. (bayyata) means, he performed the thing at night. means, he came upon the enemy suddenly, took him by surprise, attacked him by night or at night (Lane & Aqrab). 2850. Commentary: Like Ṣāliḥ's people the Meccan chiefs plotted against the life of the Holy Prophet as mentioned in 27:49 above. And like the plot against Ṣāliḥ, the plot against the Holy Prophet proved abortive. Ultimately it led to their own ruin. The Holy Prophet had to flee from Mecca but the flight eventually resulted in the destruction of the power of the Quraish. The Quraish did not realize that by compelling the Holy Prophet to flee from Mecca they were laying the foundation of their own destruction. 2851. Commentary: 2413 The end of the plottings of the Meccan chiefs against the Holy Prophet as referred to above was that they themselves met with complete discomfiture and destruction.
