PT. 18 CH. 23 people of Noah. 2533 AL-MU'MINÜN 32. "Then We raised after them another generation. 2533A ثُمَّ انْشَأْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا أَخَرِيْنَ & فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُوْلًا مِّنْهُمْ أَنِ اعْبُدُوا 33. And We sent among them a Messenger from among اللهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ الهِ غَيْرُهُ أَفَلَا themselves with the message 'Serve Allah. You have no God other than Him. Will you not then fear God?'2534 R. 3. تَتَّقُونَ وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا And the chiefs of his people. 34 who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter and وَكَذَّبُوا بِلِقَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ وَاَتْرَفْتهُم فِي الْحَيوةِ الدُّنْيَا مَا هُذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ bwhom We had afforded ease مثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ like and comfort in this life, said, 'This is but a man 2533. Commentary: "23:43; 25:39. 17:17. God tried the people of Noah first by bestowing favours upon them and then by visiting them with punishment when they showed their ingratitude by rejecting His Messenger. The words (5) may be of general application meaning that it is an invariable practice of God that He tries men sometimes by bestowing favours upon them and sometimes by visiting them with punishment for their misdeeds. 2533A. Commentary: The reference in the words "another generation" is to ‘Ād, the people of the Prophet Hūd. The following several verses, if compared to vv. 7:66-70, make this inference 2208 irresistible because the conditions and circumstances of "another generation" mentioned in the verse under comment and the following Ad mentioned in 7:66-70. few verses closely resemble those of 2534. Commentary: The human caravan wended its way till when men totally consigned God to oblivion and strayed away from the path to which the Messengers of God after Noah had led them, a Prophet was again raised among them and he also like his predecessors emphasized the basic principle of all religions- the Unity of God. "Worship Allah", has always been the clarion call of all Divine Messengers, if only mankind should realize the real significance and import of Divine worship.
