PT. 14 AN-NAHL CH. 16 وَالْقَوْا إِلَى اللهِ يَوْمَنِ السَّلَمَ وَضَلَّ offer عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ 88. And "they will submission to Allah on that day, and all that they used to forge shall fail them. 1888 الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللهِ As for those who disbelieve. 89 and turn men away from the زِدْنُهُمْ عَذَابًا فَوْقَ الْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُوا way of Allah, We will add يُفْسِدُونَ punishment to their punishment 1889 because they acted corruptly. 18 when We will raise up in every وَيَوْمَ نَبْعَثُ فِي كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ And remember the day. 90 people a witness against them from amongst themselves, and انْفُسِهِمْ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ شَهِيدًا عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَبَ تِبْيَانَا لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ We will bring thee as a witness against these. And "We have sent down to thee the Book to وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً وَبُشْرَى لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ explain everything, and a a16:29. b7:46; 11:20; 14:4. º4:42; 16:85. 10:38; 12:112. of 1889. Commentary: The verse mentions two classes of them, occurring in the preceding motive of rebellion against Him. verse show that the excuses disbelievers will not be accepted and they will be sternly told that if their false gods had tempted and inveigled them they should have resisted that temptation. 1888. Commentary: When disbelievers see that their false gods had disowned them they will change their attitude and in a humble and penitent tone will profess their sincere loyalty to God and say that their idol-worship was but a means to an end- to have concentration of mind in worship, and that it was prompted by a sincere desire to win the pleasure of God and not by any are disbelievers; (1) those who themselves misguided and (2) those who mislead others also. The latter class of disbelievers will have double punishment in the next life. The irony of it lies in the fact that the clever people who deceived their simple- minded followers into believing that they would be responsible for their salvation will find their own punishment be double the punishment of their credulous followers for whose salvation they proudly said they would be responsible. 1705 to
