CH. 12 YUSUF PT. 13 b الْحُكْمُ إِلَّا لِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَعَلَيْهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُتَوَكَّلُونَ and in Him let all who would trust put their trust. '1569 وَلَمَّا دَخَلُوْا مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَهُمْ أَبُوهُمْ And when they entered in. 69 مَا كَانَ يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ مِّنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا Jacobs حَاجَةً فِي نَفْسِ يَعْقُوْبَ قَضْهَا وَإِنَّهُ لَذُو عِلْمٍ لِمَا عَلَّمْنَهُ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ® the manner their father had them, commanded purpose was fulfilled but it could not avail them anything against Allah, except that there was a desire in Jacob's mind which he thus satisfied; and he was surely possessed of great knowledge because We had taught him, but most men know not. 1570 R. 9. وَلَمَّا دَخَلُوْا عَلَى يُوسُفَ أَوَى إِلَيْهِ And when they visited. 70 MESIEGRIEBIJE:EÍ Joseph, he lodged his brother أَخَاهُ قَالَ إِنِّي أَنَا أَخُوكَ فَلَا تَبْتَبِسُ with himself. And he said, I am بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ thy brother; so now grieve not at what they have been doing. ' 1571 1569. Commentary: As Joseph's brothers had told Jacob that they were suspected of being spies in Egypt, so, in order not to excite or strengthen a similar suspicion, Jacob advised them to enter the town separately and not in a body. The advice may be taken as hinting that Jacob had possibly been told by Divine revelation that Joseph was alive in Egypt and therefore he asked them to enter the town singly SO that Joseph might have opportunity to meet and talk to Benjamin in private. an (trust in God) see 3:123. 1570. Commentary: The desire of Jacob alluded to in this verse is the same to which reference has been made in the preceding verse viz. that they should not be suspected as spies or that, being informed by revelation that the official who distributed the grain was none other than Joseph, Jacob wanted Benjamin to meet him separately from the others. 1571.
