PT. 6 AL-MA'IDAH CH. 5 فِيْهِ وَمَنْ لَّمْ يَحْكُمُ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ Allah has revealed therein, and فَأُولَيكَ هُمُ الْفَسِقُونَ "whoso judges not by what Allah has revealed, these it is who are the rebellious. 679 وَأَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَبَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا And We have revealed unto. 49 بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الْكِتَبِ وَمُهَيْمِنَّا عَلَيْهِ thee the Book comprising the truth and fulfilling that which Book, and as a guardian over it. فَاحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ الله ولا was revealed before it in the تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَ هُمْ عَمَّا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ لِكُلِّ Judge, therefore, between them جَعَلْنَا مِنْكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا وَلَوْ by what Allah has revealed شَاءَ اللهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلَكِنْ inclinations, turning away from and follow not their evil the truth which has come to لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِي مَا أَتْكُمْ فَاسْتَبِقُوا thee. For each of you We الْخَيْرُتِ اِلَى اللهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا prescribed a clear spiritual Law فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيْهِ تَخْتَلِفُوْنَ and a manifest way in secular matters. Commentary: The words, And let the People of the Gospel judge according to what In fact, these words, like the similar ones contained in 5:45, do not enjoin obedience to any Law of Moses or Jesus but refer to the prophecies contained in the Torah and the Gospel mean that the Gospel is a Book of about the Holy Prophet of Islam.
