PT. 5 الْقِيِّمَةِ أَمْ مَّنْ يَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكِيلًا CH. 4 AN-NISA' Allah for them on the Day of Resurrection, or who will be a guardian over them?577 111. And whoso does evil or wrongs his soul, and then "asks وَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ سُوءًا أَوْ يَظْلِمُ نَفْسَهُ ثُمَّ لا يَسْتَغْفِرِ اللَّهَ يَجِدِ اللهَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا forgiveness of Allah, will surely find Allah Most Forgiving and Merciful. 578 وَمَنْ يَّكْسِبُ إِثْمًا فَإِنَّمَا يَكْسِبُهُ عَلَى And whoso commits a sin. 112 نَفْسِهِ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا وَمَنْ تَكْسِبُ خَطِيئَةً أَوْ إِثْمًا ثُمَّ يَرْمِ بِهِ بَرِيئًا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلَ بُهْتَانًا وَ إِثْمًا مُّبِيْنَان an innocent person, certainly commits it only against his own soul. And Allah is All-Knowing, Wise. 113. And whoso commits a fault or a sin, then imputes it to bears the burden of a calumny and a manifest sin. 579 577. The use in the present verse of the word (you) which is in the plural number clearly shows that in the previous verses it was not the Holy Prophet, but Muslims in general who were addressed. The Holy Prophet could not be expected to dispute on behalf of dishonest people. The Quran addresses him merely because he is the recipient of the Word of God and it is through him that people receive Divine commands. 578. Commentary: The God of Islam is a God of mercy and is never revengeful. Whenever a servant of His commits a 700 sin or does an evil act and then sincerely repents and asks for His forgiveness, he always finds Him most Forgiving and Merciful. Ah, what a loving God! Truly has the Holy Prophet said that the joy of God at the repentance of a sinful servant of His is greater than the joy of a lonely wayfarer who, while travelling in the desert, loses his camel laden with provisions and despairs of life but then suddenly finds it (Bukhārī, ch. on Da'wat). 579. Important Words: The difference between abs (fault) and (sin) mentioned side by side in this verse is that the former can be both intentional and unintentional and
