68 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS who possess the warmth of capacity and desire. This situation continues to recur in the world during times of need. Indeed, after the torrential downpour [of spiritual blessings] took place during the time of the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, no further downpour is needed and that pure water has not been wasted even up to this day; however, lesser rains are still needed, lest the general fertility of the soil should suffer. Therefore, whenever the All-Wise and All-Powerful God witnesses that aridity has overtaken the world and the plants of His garden are withering away, He definitely creates circumstances for rain. This is the eternal law of nature in which you will never find a variation. Accordingly, it was necessary that God Almighty should have shown mercy for His humble servants in these days. Look at the condition of the present age and bear witness truth- fully: Is this not the time when the religion of Islam needs Divine help? Can you find an example of the extent to which Islam and the Noble Messenger, may peace and blessings of Allah be on him, have been vilified in this age, and the degree to which attacks have been made upon the Shariah revealed by God, and the manner in which the door of apostasy and heresy has been flung open? Is it not true that in a very short time, about 100,000 people have adopted Christianity in India alone and 60 million or more books have been published in opposition to Islam, and people belonging to very noble families have been deprived of their holy religion, to the extent that those called the descendants of the Messenger, have become his enemies and donned the robe of Christianity? So many books filled with slander, disrespect, and vile abuse of the Noble Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be on him, have been printed and published, the hearing of which makes the body tremble and the heart cries out to bear witness that even if these people had murdered my children before my eyes, had cut to pieces my sincere and loving friends of this world, had killed me with great humiliation, and
