SHAIKH MEHR ALI, CHIEF OF HOSHIARPUR 695 and God Almighty accepted my prayer. The worldly people are proud of their material world, and the mendicants become proud by their self-confidence, whereas the greatness of God is cultivated by trusting Him. Thus, it is a sufficient Sign of my truthfulness or falsehood that I claim that Shaikh Ṣāḥib was released in consequence of my prayer, as I had poured water on the fire. If I am not truthful in this claim, my ignominy would be manifested. And peace be upon those who follow the] وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْهُدَى guidance].
