IN PRAISE & GLORY OF OUR BLESSED MASTER 41 آن جمالی آن رخے آن صورتے رشک بہار یاد کن وقتے چو بنمودی به بیداری مرا Recall the time when-in full wakefulness—you granted me a glimpse Of the loveliness, the charming face, and the beauty that is the envy of spring. یا رسول الله بپرس از عالم ذو الاقتدار آنچه مارا از دو شیخ شوخ آزاری رسید The pain that I have suffered from the two wicked shaikhs- O Messenger of Allah!—Ask Allah the All-Knowing, the Almighty, about it. جمله میداند خدائے حال دان و بردبار حال ما و شوخی این هر دو شیخ بد زبان My plight and the wickedness of the two foul-mouthed shaikhs Is well known to Allah the All Knowing, the Forbearing. نام من دجال و ضال و کافرے بنهاده اند نیست اندر زعم شان چون من پلید و زشت و خوار They have called me a deceiver, a misguided one, and a disbeliever— There being none more evil and despicable than me in their estimation. جز تو کاندر خو ابہا رحمت نمودی بار بار هیچکس را بر من مظلوم و همین دل نه سوخت No one felt the pain of my afflicted and painful heart except you, Who consoled me with compassion again and again in my dreams; ن مرا چون غمگسار داد و هر دم میدهد تسکین . بان خداوند کریم و دلبر و محبوب من Except, of course, the Benevolent God, who is my Darling and Beloved, And always comforts me like a sincere sympathizer. سرمه در چشم نیاید تا نمی گردد غبار صبر کردیم از عنایاتش برین صد ضرب و کوفت By Allah's favours, I showed patience in the face of hundreds of sufferings; For, collyrium is not fit for the eye until it is grounded down.
