بسمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ نَحْمَدُهُ وَنُصَلِّن PROCEEDINGS OF THE JALSA OF 27 DECEMBER 1892 In Qadian, District Gurdaspur Although nearly 500 people had gathered during this Jalsa [Convention], the number of the friends and sincere devotees who travelled long distances solely for attending the conven- tion for the sake of Allah reached about 325. I shall now describe the proceedings of the days of the con- vention. First, Hadrat Hakeem Maulawi Noor-ud-Deen presented a commentary on the noble verses of the Holy Quran which comprise the narrative of how virtuous and chaste Mary the Truthful was, and how God Almighty bestowed all kinds of favours upon her honoured son Jesus, peace be upon him, and how he, having passed away from this mortal world upon drinking from the cup of death according to the decree of Allah, reached God Almighty's Abode of Tranquillity in which John the Chaste and other hallowed Prophets had already arrived before him. In the course of this speech, the honoura- ble Maulawi Ṣāḥib presented many verities and points of deep understanding which made a profound impact upon the audi- ence. Maulawi Ṣāḥib clearly proved that the Messiah, peace be upon him, had departed from this world and the concept of his being physically alive is baseless, false, and entirely against the definite and clear dicta of the Holy Quran and authentic aḥā- dith.
