AN ADDENDUM MY LIFE, ANCESTORS, AND BRETHREN IN FAITH 557 We shall destroy her husband (also) as we have destroyed her father and will return her to you. This is the truth from your Lord. Then be not one of the doubters. We shall delay it only for a fixed period. Say: Wait till the end of the term and I am with you among those who wait. When the promise of God is fulfilled [it will be said]: Is this what you called false or were you blind? These are the glad tidings which my Lord gave me. [All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds]. فالحمد لله رب One night I saw in a dream that I am standing in a place and hold- ing a naked sword. Its handle is in my hand while its other end is point- ing to the sky. The lightning emanates from it and from time to time, the droplets of light fall from it. When I swing this sword from north to south, every time, thousands of enemies of religion are killed. In the same vision, I saw a very pious person by the name of Abdullah Ghaznavi, who had died long ago. I had asked him the interpretation of that vision. you He replied: "This sword is, in fact, those arguments which Allah has conferred upon you. He has helped you with arguments and reasoning. Moreover, your swinging the sword from north to south signifies the spiritual as well as rational arguments which you will present to those who do not accept. Likewise, the killing of enemies means that would silence them. This is the interpretation of your dream, and you are one of those who have been helped. As long as I was alive, I hoped and thought that there would be someone possessing these qualities, but I was not sure that it would be you as I did not pay much heed to your affair. ' Furthermore, through this vision, Allah has given me glad tidings and said that my entreaties and prayers have been heard and He will confer upon me what I desired. 'You are from amongst those who have been blessed. What can make you understand what you are being given? I will give you kindness, grace, nearness, victory, and prosperity. Peace be
