AT-TABLIGH―TO THE NOBLE AND PIOUS OF THE ARABS 477 the power to rule, nor would they emerge victorious? Do you not see the promise of Allah; that is, His Words: 1 وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيمَةِ Do you not reflect? Do you not ponder over the Quran as to how it has placed everything other than God beneath our feet and has given us the glad tidings of the glory of the Kalimah [declaration of faith in Islam] of Oneness till Doomsday? How is it that your hearts have become perverse and you believe in what contradicts the Quran, and have become heretical? Would Allah take someone as His equal in the Latter Days, even if it were only for a few days? Beware! Evil it is what you determine. As far as an example of a traditionally well-known incident which Allah desired to appear as wonderful and noble, such is the incident of Pharaoh's dream mentioned in the Quran. He said: إِلى أَرى سَبْعَ بَقَرَاتٍ سِمَانٍ يَأْكُلُهُنَّ سَبْعٌ عِجَافٌ وَ سَبْعَ سُنْبُلَت خُضْرٍ وَ أَخَرَ يَبِستِ يَاأَيُّهَا الْمَلَا افتُونِي فِي رُؤْيَايَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لِلرُّه يَا تَعْبُرُونَ 0 2 Likewise was the dream of Yusuf [Joseph], peace be upon him: إِذْ قَالَ يُوسُفُ لِأَبِيهِ يَابَتِ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوْكَبَا وَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ رَأَيْتُهُمْ لِي سَجِدِينَ 30 Hence, these examples are decisive between us and our people and are 1. And will place those who follow thee above those who disbelieve, until the Day of Resurrection (Surah Al-e-Imran, 3:56). [Publisher] 2. I see in a dream seven fat cows whom seven lean cows are eating, and sev- en green ears of corn and seven others dried up. O ye chiefs, explain to me the meaning of my dream if you can interpret a dream (Surah Yusuf, 12:44). [Publisher] 3. Remember the time when Joseph said to his father, ‘O my father, I saw in a dream eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them making obeisance to me' (Surah Yusuf, 12:5). [Publisher]
