458 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS you listen to my word carefully and pay heed to the advice and instruc- tion that I will render unto you today, Allah will be pleased with you and will cause you to prosper and thrive. He will cause His blessings to descend upon you and will bless your progenies, posterity, crops, trades, buildings, and kingdoms. He will bless with a pure you life. Thus, you will enter into the protection of Allah and there shall you reside under His shelter. If you do not desist from your evils and fail to put on the yoke of Divine commandment around your necks, then you will surely be seized by your sins. The fire of your vices will consume you and Allah will render you as mere tales for future generations—a lesson for those who witness. He will disperse and uproot you; thus, you will perish leaving nothing behind but your remains. Allah will brandish His unsheathed sword at you and unleash tormentors upon you. He will smite you with disgrace and oust you from every place. Verily, Allah wills to strengthen His religion and help His servant. Is this your Islam that you stand in its opposition! Do you wield the power to uproot the tree planted by the Gracious Lord Himself? Will you fight with Allah? O my Lord! How magnificent this feat of Yours when You descend to help some people and they then stand victorious! O my Lord! How sharp Your sword is when you draw it against a group; then, surely, they are doomed to be cut asunder! Surely, Allah has manifested Himself in a new fashion. O ye heedless ones! Stand up for Him! If you deliberately behave heedlessly and turn away, soon you shall recollect and regret. Look at the people before you! They disobeyed Allah, so He slapped them on their faces and afflicted them with poverty and adversity, and destroyed them with calamities and varied afflictions. You are not the least bit better than any of them, nor has Allah weakened, fatigued, or slack- ened. What is the matter with you that you fear not the wrath of Allah and tremble not? We have not said much about you and have over- looked many of your disgraceful acts. We have preferred forgiveness over reproach so that you might be grateful in your hearts and repent.
