LETTER TO NAWWAB MUHAMMAD ALI KHAN “The comforter whom the Father will send in my name he shall teach you all things'—14. ¹ ‘Verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. ' (i. e. in the name of the Messiah, peace be upon him)-Luke 14. 2 In these verses the words of the Messiah-namely, I will send him unto you'-clearly indicate that the spirit of the Messiah would demand that such a person should be raised. Moreover, the sentence, 'whom the Father will send in my name' indicates that he who is to come, will have a complete share of Messiah's spirituality and that in one aspect of his spiritual eminence he would be the Messiah just as, in another aspect, he is Moses. The fact is that our Holy Prophet, peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him, combines in him the names of all the Prophets, because all the various spiritual excellences are con- centrated in his holy personage. Hence, he is Moses, Jesus, Adam, Abraham, Joseph, and Jacob. This is what Allah, glori- fied be His eminence, has indicated in the verse: فَيهُمْ لَهُمُ اقْتَدِهُ Meaning that: O Messenger of Allah! Combine all the vari- ous points of guidance in your own person, which each of the Prophets possessed as a special gift. This shows that the spiritual merits of all the Prophets were to be found in the person of the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. And in reality, the very name 1.
