BLESSED ARE THE TRUTHFUL, FOR THEY SHALL TRIUMPH IN THE END Those who have seen the paper Nür Afshāń dated 10 May 1888 must be aware of the degree to which the editor of this paper, after publish- ing a letter of mine that contains a prophecy, had made use of abusive language, and used improper, indecent, and filthy words against me. We should not, as a rule, feel sorry for such conduct of the Christian preachers, because opposition, denial, and contempt for the truth are their long-established habits. Nevertheless, I wish to now show what the ultimate outcome was of the Divine prophecy which they have characterized as a selfish plan and a human fabrication, and against which-consistent with their habit—they have levied undue criticism. Did the prophecy prove to be only a lie, or did God Almighty, who supports the truth, manifest its truthfulness? Let it be noted that the words of the prophecy relating to Mirza Ahmad Baig of Hoshiarpur contained in the letter of mine which is published in the Nūr Afshān of 10 May 1888 and printed on pages 2 and 3 of the said newspaper, are as follows: 'It has been made clear to me by God Almighty through His holy revelation that if you con- sent to give me the hand of your elder daughter in marriage, God will remove all your adversities due to this marriage, and, safeguarding you from calamities, will bestow blessing upon blessing on you; but, if this marriage does not take place, arranging a match for her anywhere else would certainly not be auspicious for you.
