288 Α'ΙΝΑ-Ε-ΚΑMĀLĀT-E-ISLAM-DAFI UL-WASĀWIS is akin to witnessing the face of God Almighty Himself. This is the pure word of God, just as much as the earth, the sun, and the moon are purely the creations of God Almighty. And, undoubtedly, revelation transcends the nature of man in the same way as God transcends man. If, setting aside the veil of your personal greatness, you take a little trouble and live in the company of this humble one for a few weeks, then I am hopeful that most of what you consider beyond reason will easily appear to you to be rational and possible. You may consider yourself very well equipped with the essence of philosophy and sci- ence, and you may have been enlightened with modern light, having traversed all the stages of naturalism, but, my dear sir! (please do not mind my saying so) heavenly light is altogether different from the light of Western sciences. Had you known the darkness and damage caused by this light, you would have preferred a thousand times to live like a simple Muslim in preference to this wretched light, and adopt- ing the humble people's faith, fearing the tribulations of this age of the Antichrist, and making use of patience in matters of faith, you would always have prayed with humility: رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَ تَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ 10 Beware that the prevailing philosophy is powerless and lifeless before proven truths. Any body of knowledge, whether old or new, cannot override the actual facts. When I say two and two makes four, need I fear that a great philosopher may contradict this assertion of mine? Or, if I understand the day to be a day, why should I be fearful if a band of philosophers in my presence is calling it night? No food gives that strength to the body as does a convincing argument and complete revelation to the heart. This revelation and this argument which are necessary for the cognition 1.
