Footnote AN ESSENTIAL CONCLUSIVE ARGUMENT FOR SAYYED AHMAD KHAN C. S. I. After seeing some of the writings of Sayyed Ahmad Khan C. S. I. , the leader of a new sect of Muslims, particularly his commen- tary [of the Holy Quran], it appears that his AUTHOR'S MARGIN NOTE An Essential Conclusive Argument for Sayyed Ahmad Khan C. S. I. ideas are along the lines of denying that anyone can really be blessed with converse and discourse with Allah. As of now, what I believe to be his view is that he denies the wahy [revelation] which is granted to Prophets through Gabriel, peace be upon him, and comprises of Allah's power, unveiling of the unseen, and other supernormal phenomena, and which descends purely from the heavens, and is not any natural human faculty. He seemingly professes faith in the existence of Gabriel, but his Gabriel is not the Gabriel who is unanimously believed by 200 million Muslims of the world. He also believes in the revealed Word of Allah, but not in the Word which is comprised of the light and power of God. Rather, he believes it to be only a natural capacity which, in accordance with its measure, accepts the grace of God—not the wahy which ema- nates from the spring of the Divine.
