MISCONCEPTION IN NUR AFSHAN سب کا دل آتش سوزاں میں جلایا ہم نے نور دکھلا کے تیرا سب کو کیا ملزم و خوار By demonstrating your light, I subjected all of them to ignominy and humiliation; I incinerated the hearts of all in the burning flame. اپنا ہر ذرہ تری راہ میں اڑایا ہم نے نقش ہستی تری الفت سے مٹایا ہم نے I vanquished all traces of my own being with your love; I dispersed every particle of my being in your path. تیرا میخانہ جو اک مرجع عالم دیکھا خُم کا لحم منہ سے بصد حرص لگایا ہم نے Finding your drinking place to be the centre for the entire world, I drank of it in abundance with the utmost zeal. شانِ حق تیرے شمائل میں نظر آتی ہے تیرے پانے سے ہی اُس ذات کو پایا ہم نے I find traces of the Being of Allah the True in your moral qualities— By finding you, I have found that Holy Being. لاجرم در پہ ترے سر کو جھکایا ہم نے چھو کے دامن تر اہر دام سے ملتی ہے نجات A touch of your cloak liberates from all traps; No doubt, I have prostrated myself upon your threshold. دلبرا مجھ کو قسم ہے تری یکتائی کی آپ کو تیری محبت میں بھلایا ہم نے O my beloved! I swear by your uniqueness; I have forgotten all about myself in your love. بخدا دل سے مرے مٹ گئے سب غیروں کے نقش جب سے دل میں یہ تیرا نقش جمایا ہم نے By God, all traces of others were wiped out of my heart; Ever since I affixed this trace of you in my heart. دیکھ کر تجھ کو عجب نور کا جلوہ دیکھا نور سے تیرے شیاطیں کو جلایا ہم نے Upon seeing you, I witnessed a wonderful manifestation of light; By your light, I burned up the evil spirits. 263
