MISCONCEPTION IN NUR AFSHAN 257 of Nür Afshan, I wish to reiterate that even if we say nothing about the Gospel in the hands of the Christians—tampered with and interpo- lated as it is and assume that the revered Messiah [Jesus] really did make the claim to be the resurrection and life, it would still amount to nothing; for, such a claim which cannot be substantiated with evi- dence, cannot establish anyone's superiority. If a man lays no claim, but nevertheless demonstrates his ability to accomplish something, such a one is far superior to the one who makes a claim but is unable to substantiate it. The Gospel itself bears witness that the claim of the Messiah is highly questionable in the eyes of a critic and even in the case of the Disciples, let alone that of others. And it establishes that the revered Messiah left even his Disciples in the graves of selfishness. And when we compare the claim of the revered Messiah with the claim of the Hadrat Khatamul-Anbiyā' [Seal of the Prophets], may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, we find the difference between the two claims to be like the difference between darkness and light. The claim of the revered Messiah lies in the dark and obscure pit of wanting evi- dence, and it has no light accompanying it, but the claim of our Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, shines forth like the sun. Moreover, a weighty proof of the eternal life of the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is that the infinite grace of his Praised Being continues to flow. Even in this age, a person who obeys the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is raised from the dead and is bestowed a spiritual life-and not so merely in an imaginary sense. Rather, its real and true indications are manifested, and heavenly help and blessings and the extraordinary support of the Holy Spirit accompany such a person. He becomes a unique person from among all the people of the world, to the point that God Almighty speaks with him, discloses His profound myster- ies to him, manifests His verities and truths to him, demonstrates the bright Signs of His love and favour in him, causes His help to descend upon him, places His blessings in him, and makes him the mirror of
