ADMONITION For the Purpose of Removing a Misconception in the Nur Afshań dated 13 October 1892 CE The Gospel of John, Chapter 11, Verse 25-This statement of Ḥadrat Īsā [Jesus], peace be upon him, is written in the verse: 'I am the res- urrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live'; that is, gaining deliverance from a death of sinfulness, disobedience, heedlessness, and disbelief, he will attain a spiritual life of obedience to God. Commenting upon this sentence of the Gospel, the editor of Nur Afshan in the 13 October 1892 issue exposes his igno- rance when he says that: Since the creation of Adam to this day, no one has made such a weighty claim, nor has used such words about himself [claim- ing] that he was the resurrection and the life; and that even if there had been such a person who had said such words about himself, it would have been utterly impossible to substantiate them in his case, but that the Lord Christ not only made the claim but also substantiated what he had said about himself. ― End quote.
