232 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS flesh we made bones in some parts of the flesh and covered the bones with muscles and skin, and after that We made it into another creation; that is, We invested him with a soul. So, how Blessed is that God who, in His works of creation, excels all creators in the beauty and perfect wonder of His creation! Observe that, even in this instance, God Almighty states His law of nature to be the same; meaning that man attains His full develop- ment after passing through six stages of creation. It is clear that there is a strong resemblance between the larger universe and the 'miniature universe'. The Quran affirms that man is indeed a 'miniature universe. ' This verse alludes to that very truth: لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ 10 Meaning that man has been called the best of creation because of hav- ing assimilated all the qualities and properties of the universe, having been endowed by God with a portion of each of such different quali- ties and beauties. Therefore, because of the resemblance between the two universes and because of the existence of a state of correspondence between the actions of the One and Only Creator, we are compelled to accept the position that the same stages of creation which are to be found in the 'miniature universe' are also to be found in the process of creating the larger universe. We clearly observe with our eyes that this 'miniature universe' which is called by the name of 'man', passes through six stages of development, and there is no doubt that this universe [i. e. man] is like a mirror for the identification of the hidden secrets of the larger universe. When, therefore, the former is proven to pass through six stages of the development, we can say with certainty that, in the pro- cess of its creation, the larger universe also passed through six stages— the result of the six causes or manifestations-evidence of which has been preserved in the six planets.
