FOREWORD Ä'ina-e-Kamālāt-e-Islām (“The Mirror of the Excellences of Islam') was written by Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiahas at a time when the beautiful face of Islam was being misrepresented and maligned on virtually every front. Ever so novel attacks were being contrived by the Christian missionaries, the Arya Samaj, and the pro- ponents of various rational and scientific lines of thought. To make matters worse, the Muslim ulema were inadvertently harming it from within as they tried to reconcile Islamic teachings with the rational thoughts of the day. In this book, the Promised Messiahas refutes their assertions on the authority of his personal spiritual experiences, Divine revelations, and deeply insightful knowledge of the Quran and Hadith. This book is also named Dāfiʻul-Wasāwis (‘Remover of Misgivings') and is comprised of an Urdu section which was written in 1892 and another Arabic section written in 1893, which is entitled At-Tabligh. This particular section represents the first time the Promised Messiahas had written a book in Arabic. During the composition of the book, the Promised Messiahas had twice experienced visions in which the Holy Prophetsas had expressed his great pleasure upon the writing of a work of such lofty calibre. In another vision, the Promised Messiah as saw an angel calling upon the people to stand in reverence of such a noble book. This is the English translation of the book, the review of which was guided closely by Hadrat Khalifatul-Masīḥ Vaba. My humble self was blessed with the opportunity to seek his guidance, obtain approval of the final translation of various passages, and convey his directives to the reviewers and other departments as necessary. As directed by Hudūraba, I personally visited the United States of America to meet with the team members, guide them throughout the review process, and assist with the finalization of the book.
