PREFACE ESSENCE OF ISLAM 135 will not reach us and no anxiety or fear shall grip our hearts. Rather, with the power of the light of our faith, we shall pass over the șirāț like a flash of lightning because we had already passed over that bridge before. Allah, His eminence be glorified, alludes to this very fact in the following verse: مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَكَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا وَهُمْ مِنْ فَزَعِ يَوْمَبِذٍ أَمِنُونَ ) --Part Number 20, Surah an-Naml Meaning that: On the Day of Judgment, those who did good will be recompensed in larger measure than the good they did, and they will be secure against fear of any kind on that day. Similarly, it is stated: يُعِبَادِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَا أَنْتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ 20 —Part Number 25, Surah az-Zukhruf. Meaning that: O My servants! You need have no fear this day nor shall you grieve. But the person who has not walked upon șirāṭ-e-mustaqim in this world will not be able to walk upon it at that time. He will fall into Hell and will be consumed in its fire like fuel, as Allah, glorified be His eminence, says: وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَكَبَتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِي النَّارِ هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ 30 -Part Number 20 Meaning that: The evildoers will be thrown into Hell on that day, and it will be said: 'This recompense is in reality the very deeds which you were doing in the world.
