118 Ā'ĪNA-E-KAMĀLĀT-E-ISLĀM―DĀFI‘UL-WASĀWIS یکدم از جبریل بعدش چول رواست آنکہ ہر کردار و قولش دین ماست He whose every word and deed is our Faith— How can he possibly part from Gabriel even for an instant? چوں نے ترسید از قهر خدا امام انبیاء ایں افترا This is such a slander against the Chief of the Prophetsas, How do you avoid fearing the wrath of God! %. AUTHOR'S MARGIN NOTE The Companions never held the belief that the Holy Spirit would ever be separated from the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Had the Companions held this belief, they would not have considered every single word and deed of the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to be a binding author- ity of the Faith The Companions believed without any doubt that no action or statement of the Holy Prophet as was devoid of the influence of waḥy, whether that waḥy was abridged or detailed, hidden or apparent, clear or sus- ceptible to interpretation. So much so that the details of the domestic life of the Holy Prophetas, even his personal dealings and private, secluded discussions with his wives, or details about what he ate and drank, how he dressed himself, and minor events of the daily routine of family life, have all been included in the aḥādīth because of the belief that all such words or deeds were inspired by the light of the Holy Spirit. This hadith may be found in Abū Dāwūd etc. Moreover, Imam Ahmad relates from Abdullah ibn Amr, through a chain of narra- tors, that Abdullah stated: 'Whatever I used to hear from the Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, I used to write down in order to commit it to memory. Some people asked me not to do so, arguing that the Messenger of Allah, peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him, is a human being and sometimes speaks in anger too. So, upon hearing this, I stopped writing down the words of the Holy Prophet sas and reported the matter to the Messengers of Allah. Thereupon, he [the Holy Prophet sas] said, 'I
